Read the latest "Is Hillary in trouble" story on time.com and this floored me:

Wow. No wonder she doesn't have time to concentrate on Wisconsin. She has to figure something out in Texas and Ohio.

I am looking at a Survey USA poll from Tuesday that shows Hillary up 56-39 in Ohio. It also shows Obama up 50-39 in Wisconsin and 50-40 in North Carolina.

Well done. It's like going into a war with one bullet apiece for each of the enemy soldiers. Hell, that's all it really takes, right?

I can't bring myself to trust the presidency to someone who'd plan like this.

I'm reading commentary about how keeping Wisconsin close is some kind of victory for Clinton. How low are we going to set the bar? She needs to win Wisconsin and then score big in Ohio and Texas to answer the Potomac results. Winning is important in elections. Coming close? Not so much.

  6. Not true, given the way the D's apportion delegates.

Except Clinton is significantly behind in pledged delegates already. Coming close/winning narrowly keeps her significantly behind. She needs to win big in big states to have any claim to the nomination.

    So, yes, it's true.

  8. Not entirely true, and completely dependent upon how you define "big."
Obama's the frontrunner at the moment, for sure, but there's still a plausible case to be made that she can still win. Whereas the R's, with winner-take-all primaries, are locked up now.

She can win if she cuts into the delegate lead. She needs to win by a large margin to accomplish this task. I'm not going to argue this obvious point. Have a nice day.

  10. Gee, thanks.
    Assertions are fun.
    You, too, by the way.

This morning's NYT says Clintons are preparing 'incendiary' tactics to win the nomination.

So much for any thought of losing gracefully....

Ohio (and Pennsy) are markedly HRC.

    Wisconsin is comfortably Obama.

    Texas is beyond huge.
