I said that a while back ago. And if McCain was still the McCain from 2000, I'd probably say the same thing now. But the man's just gotten too wingnut for my tastes in the last few years. I can't do it.

If it's McCain vs. Clinton, I'm going to be incredibly disappointed.

These days I don't want anything to do with a McCain presidency. If my vote really mattered, I might hold my nose and vote the other way, or vote for no one. But where I live, McCain isn't going to win shit. He won't even show up. I'll be disappointed, too, and that'll be my way to protest.

Not only will I not vote for her, I'll leave the Democratic party if she's the nominee.

If she's what that party represents, I want no part of it.

I might take you up on that, buckdub, but I don't think I'll have to.

BTW, did you see the California recount is final? And Obama gained four delegates, for a swing of eight?

Meaning he gained more from that recount than Clinton netted on Tuesday?

And that's without all the Texas caucus counts in...

My wife has said she's going to switch her vote from Clinton to Obama if Florida holds another primary. I'll be voting for Obama this summer, too, and I skipped the first go-round.

I never thought I would feel that way when the campaign began, figuring either one would be fine. Now I don't feel the same way and probably would go back to independent status -- which I was until two years ago -- if she does get the nomination.

I was the same way. Way back when this started, I was the one telling my friends that I'd be happy to vote for any of them -- and they should be, too.

    Not any more.

I had some issues with Edwards, but I'd have happily voted for him. Ditto Dodd and Biden. Probably Richardson, too, though he never did impress me.

And in the meantime, we're not done with Texas yet. HRC won 65 delegates (to Obama's 61) in the primary, but that could swing in the Democratic caucus voting (which controls about a third of the total pledged delegates from Texas).

Still 60% of the caucus ballots uncounted? This might take longer than Florida 2K.

  10. Just for the record -- I have yet to hear a single Clinton supporter say this.
Good, zeke. Your conscience will be clear, and your heart will be pure, and we'll be at war with Iran within six months, and Sam Brownback will pick federal judges.

It's scary to think people who support Obama (and presumably his positions and those of the Democratic platform) would rather have McCain (along with his policies and the GOP platform) become president than HRC, whose policies and Democratic platform are nearly identical to Obama's. Amazing as much as it is short-sighted. But you could see this kind of whiny stuff coming when so many Obamites started adopting the Karl Rove's rhetoric as their own.
