We are starting to see the inexperience of Obama and staff now. The Clinton team is hitting them at every turn and getting their eye off the prize. Its like a big law firm beating down the little guy with a bunch of subpoena's that they must answer.

Was that during an exclusive interview with The Scotsman? Were other reporters around?

I assume she was alone, because Power was actually being interviewed about her new book. Then the political stuff came up. Here's the relevant add from the Scotsman page posted above:

    PUBLISH AND BE DAMNED

WHEN is off the record actually off the record? When the rules are established in advance.

Journalists are always looking for knowledge and want the information they receive to be available for publication.

But occasionally an interviewer will accept an exchange is "off the record" and that the conversation is not attributable. Remarks can be used as background to inform a journalist's article.

If a conversation is to be off the record, that agreement is usually thrashed out before the interview begins. Sometimes, public figures say something and then attempt to retract it by insisting it was "off the record" after the event.

But by then it is too late, particularly if it is in the public interest that the story be published.

In this instance, Samantha Power was promoting her book and it was established in advance that the interview was on the record.

So does being on the record for one topic mean you're on the record for all topics?

Wonder what would have happened if Hillary had called for Wolfson's resignation over the Starr comment?

Call him gutless if you want, but Obama killed the issue after one day. You need to be focused on the big picture, and anything that gets in the way of your ability to talk about your campaign instead of answering questions about a throwaway line in an irrelevant interview isn't worth it.

I know I asked this earlier, but does anyone know if Candy Crowley is on a crash diet or had the gastric bypass? She looks like she's dropped a bunch of weight.

Fine . . . but the debate isn't about the incumbent spazz. The majority of us here knew he was hopeless, going in, and were outvoted. Next.

I love how Obama gets to channel Reagan and Newt Gingrich at will to attack Clinton, but gets his panties in a wad when someone says McCain is more qualified than him.

Eleanor Clift? - give me a break. Why do people write this crap? Oh, yeah, so they can get booked on talking head shows and promote a book.

Given that someone is Clinton herself, I can't blame him for not liking it. And Obama's hardly Reagan or Gingrich, I don't see where the comparison to either applies.
