Obama was against going to Iraq . . . which in 2003 had nothing to do with fighting "terrorists".

That this even needs to be explained in 2008 is just staggering.

Unless you can provide evidence that Obama was against military intervention in Afghanistan . . . please be quiet and stop embarrassing yourself.

On this, I fear you're right. The longer it goes, the more I think that Dean's going to play Solomon and seat them both and divide them down the middle. Which will make no one happy.

    It ain't beanbag, right?

Yup. Obama's in Chicago. His people are nuts if they don't appear somewhere together, today.

  3. How many ads did he do, zeke? Do you know? I didn't even know about this until this morning, but it was a great fucking move. The guy should be on Obama commercials for the next two months. "Hillary Clinton says Barack Obama's not ready to lead. I can tell you he is." This is something he could hit back with without jeopardizing all that "New Politics" rhetoric that drives me fucking bonkers.
Meanwhile, on the other side, there is still shit for brains.

He cut an ad after the NRCC saw the first round of polling and dumped $1.2 million into the race. He also had his Chicago staff and vols working on GOTV and had a link on his site for vols around the country to do VPB on the web.

According to what I read, that district went Bush by 56-44 in 2004. But Foster had the benefit of Oberweis being crazy, a general disgust toward the GOP and the help of Obama and the state party.

But, yeah, he should hammer this for quite a while. The Supers ignore those kind of coattails at their own peril.

Oberweis is as unimpressive a candidate as I've seen. More than $6 million of his own money spent trying to buy his way into public office in the last decade. Maybe he'll finally get the fucking hint.

I like how McCain called DC the "city of Satan." Douche.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Doc, but wasn't Oberweis the guy the Illinois GOP wanted to run against Obama for the Senate seat after Ryan dropped out, but the national party overruled them and brought in Alan Keyes?

So, yeah. If the national party pulls you for the mad fundamentalist, you're a pretty shitty candidate.

Still, this was a reliably Republican district.

Yes, he tried to run against Obama in 2004. And failed. Miserably.

What matters to me is that Obama seems to want to hide his middle name. I don't know why.

My boy Tommy D on MTP this morning...

"Ask any elected official west of the Mississippi who they want on the top of the ticket, and they'll tell you it's Barack Obama."

    Bingo.

  11. DickCheney?
Sorry, zeke. It was just hanging there.
