Funny, I saw "complete racist fuckwit" and knew instantly who you were responding to without having to hit "show ignored content."

Criticizing what the protesters did is fine. Assuming the article is accurate, vandalizing property is not acceptable. If he was really told he has to give in to some demands and those include a donation to the charity the protesters choose, that's not appropriate at all.

That said, your comment was despicable. It was bad enough that you compared them organized crime, even if you did take that from the restaurant owner's comments. Comparing what the protesters were doing to Kristallnacht was way over the fucking line. That was thoroughly inexcusable. It would have been despicable even without your history of racist posts on this board. Your history just makes it worse.

You’re patronizing those that hide behind the BLM label. The article, from a reputable objective newspaper, provides sufficient context and perspective. Combine that the President of the NAACP in Philadelphia backing not only the BLM movement but the dirty disgusting anti-Semitic statements of his own and citing a number of well known African Americans who have made similar anti-Semitic slurs. All done with minor rebukes and no backlash. The comment stands. This group in Louisville are acting like organized crime in extortion and threatening violence and vandalism to shop keepers who don’t agree to their racially purr ideal. You may not like the source, but it’s damn accurate. African Americans get a huge pass for their Anti-Semitism because, well, fuck the Jews anyway right? In this case it’s fuck the Cubans. Because? Because they won’t give into extortion. Even if they are inclined to to sympathy for the movement. It’s not a choice if it’s at the point of a gun or torch.

I wasn't criticizing the source. I was just approaching the story with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Again, I'm not defending what the protesters in the story did. I'm saying your comment was despicable.

I do think 911 operators need to be part of the conversation when it comes to some of this. It always surprises me how many cops tend to show up on a run of the mill case when a black person is involved (accurately or innacurately). Really curious about the story behind this one. You've got four police officers. Easy enough to separate the family members if need be. Cuffed and on the ground? Seriously?

And lets be clear - whether this is/was racism or "just" bad policing, crappy record keeping - it's bad and wrong and can get people killed. The department has had some issues lately (to say the least). I'd send them all back to the academy for a three week refresher. We shouldn't give guns to officers who lack the judgement or training to do the job properly.

The extra cops always show up to any call here. If there's a traffic stop, a second cruiser will show up pretty quickly. It's mainly a safety issue since the cops here largely don't have partners in the cars with them. It's usually one LEO per car - except for training officers riding with rookies.

It's also because they are expected to respond to X number of calls per month.
