If it makes you feel better one of those Patriot Prayer guys was shot and killed last night.

What’s going on in Portland has been a complete shitshow, and only now, with these shithead Trump assholes rolling in and one of them getting killed, will you see a mayor and governor say “enough.” Because pretty soon you’re going to have 5000 of these shitheads in Portland and it’ll be a street war.

I think Democrats and Biden supporters are, at the end of the day, going to have a little more integrity.

I think you'll see this week the mainstream/left media say this has to end. It does, and it should have awhile back, but you'll see it, and it'll get some pushback from the wokest corners of the media universe. But I think it'll happen because there's a sense that, "yeah, too much of this and it's going to help Trump."



I also think you'll see some old-timers roll in and say "you know, as much as you might fondly recall the protests of the 1960s and 1970s, they helped get NIXON elected twice."

And I think, ultimately, what's happening this summer can't easily be shaped into "this is how racism gets addressed." The 1992 LA riots helped begat the 1994 Crime Bill, after all, which has been a source of all kinds of issues.

 

No, it doesn't. Defunding police simply means redirecting funds to send trained people into different situations instead of police. The theory is it will free up police to handle the real scary shit like, I don't know, a racist white kid walking down the street carrying a gun.

 

We as citizens need to own up to the state of law enforcement, which includes myself. We need to pay attention to what union agreements are being signed and what oversight there is in place. They work for US, not the other way around.

 

And I suppose you think Trayvon Martin could have killed George Zimmerman with his bare hands or if the cop let George Floyd up when he said "I can't breathe " Floyd might have attacked him.

It was An intentionally vague slogan. Many people who want to defund the police actually want to abolish most police. The mentally ill person with a knife who broke into your kids’ bedroom needs help. But get him out of your house as soon as possible, by any means necessary.

mental health treatment and police funding are not either or options. Mental health treatment or paying for Princess Incest and the other mega-douches to go an vacation is apparently an either or situation.
