    I see we are still tone-policing anti-racism.

There will never be a right way to phrase it to appease moderated

First you have to accept that some people, more than you may think, are shit and their removal from Society is worth it.
Second, little kids have to grow up with good solid academic education with the expectation they will be successful. Manageable class sizes. And parents who care about it.
Third, kids have to actually believe in the American Dream and that working hard will lead to success. And that has to be true. They have to make the same decisions not to commit a crime and stay in school as ayou.
Last, Kids can’t live in poverty, without healthcare and with overburdened parents. A 2 parent household is still much better than 1. And parents that work full time provide the best example
    Children will ever have.

Rich kids and children who are brought up with education, expectations and family love commit crimes too. Just not in the same proportion as poor kids.

education, healthcare and jobs. That’s the solution. If you provide that and crime is committed then They need to be separated from Society.

One of the biggest problems with trying to address racism is that it's very hard to do while still telling white men they're incredibly special and important. And clearly, a hell of a lot of white men will totally shut down unless that's reinforced.

So in order to end racism, you have to tear others down? This is what’s happening to close the education gap. You can close the gap by letting trailing runner catch up by slowing down the one ahead. eveyone is important and special. Are you going to tell your white kids they aren’t special and important. Do you want their teachers to tell them they aren’t special or important? Do you want schools to teach white kids that their parents and grandparents are responsible for all the ills in society. And we are going to punish you for the sins of your ancestors.

You can debate someone else. You are utterly unwilling to even try to understand the points people are making.

    Not bothering.

Read the post I was responding to.

I am not sure I would have called the point of my original post, "shitty marketing," but I appreciated that he seemed to understand the point and was responding to what I actually said. And I understood what he meant by the term.

You should be careful about this. ... Intentions are not the same things as results. You can do things that are counterproductive to a stated intention if you approach it with means that alienate some people. In this case, there are also people who will be quick to try to stifle objections to those means by unfairly suggesting that the person objecting must be a racist.

These are the types of specifics I'm looking for; thank you for taking the time to do so. I'd much rather see this than "your plan sucks (not saying you say it)"

JFC. My white skinned kid hasn't faced any of that and certainly hasn't been slowed down. But she appreciates multiculturalism in a way I never knew.

White moderates like to reframe racism so that instead of a structural problem built into all layers of society, it's actually just a small percentage of secretly bad people who pretend to be normal.

They do this so that they can maintain the structure that benefits them without feeling morally responsible for it, the best of both worlds.

Pilot's post was great, and the one by The Big Ragu wasn't too shabby, either. I highly doubt either the content or the intent of Pilot's post sailed over TBR's head. Their posts work in concert, providing context and nuance, and together, they add considerable perspective. None of this stuff is black-and-white, despite the topic.

I'm pretty sure it's been stated before, but racism and white privilege are two sides of the same coin. The white privilege side produces expectations in white people, where they should be in their lives etc., which leads them to come to the conclusion that it must be non-white people that are responsible for their dissatisfaction with their lot in life - rather than themselves - or perhaps even other white people.
Now that's the ultimate in white privilege - screwing over your fellow citizens and having them think it isn't you - who really have the power to do such things through politics, business and wealth - but some non-white taxi driver, customer service rep on the phone or small business owner.
