This crap needs to be shut down the day before fucking yesterday.

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...aw-enforcement-officers-across-us/5949281001/

A search of that list revealed more than 200 people who identified themselves as active or retired law enforcement officers when signing up.

Founded after the election of Barack Obama in 2009 by Yale Law School graduate Stewart Rhodes, the Oath Keepers refuse to acknowledge the authority of the federal government. Members must abide by a declaration of conspiracy-laden orders they will refuse to enforce, including disarming the American people.

I imagine there are more than a few active law enforcement still in the Oath Keepers - which should disqualify them from being able to testify in any trial (given that they pick and choose which laws to enforce) - which should also make them unemployable as law enforcement officers.

    I agree with you.
But if you want to discuss picking and choosing which laws they will enforce, I suggest you look at the District Attorney in Philadelphia and the State’s Attorney in Baltimore.

DAs have that discretion in deciding which cases to pursue - cops don't. A DA can say, "not enough evidence" or "we don't have enough staff to prosecute."

DA says the legislature has made statutory rape a crime, but I think it’s not one we should pursue. Discretion? Or abdication of responsibility? While I agree with declining to pursue marijuana cases, I’m not comfortable giving someone the power to over rule laws that have been passed by the legislature and signed by the governor. Next thing you know they will decline to pursue lynchings.

Well there is a difference between DAs and Sheriffs and your average law enforcement officer. The former are elected - which is why you see some sheriffs and DAs taking stands about what they will enforce and what they won't. Not shure where that puts deputy sheriffs. But you have seen various DAs and sheriffs be quite public about what they will and won't enforce in order to better their re-election prospects.

A statue of George Floyd was vandalized and some people are ok with it.

I really don't care about the pregnant woman he allegedly assaulted.

Is that where we are when an assault of a pregnant woman means nothing?

It had nothing to do with why Derek Chauvin arrested him, so it's really irrelevant to why he's dead.

He did his time for the assault so it doesn't matter here.

He also didn't overdose on fentanyl so I don't know why people keep saying that.

If spending time in prison doesn't matter, if you can't serve time and have it pay for the crime you committed, why the f*** are our jails full and why aren't we just executing everyone who commits a crime?

My post was more about the nonchalant attitude and dismissiveness of a pregnant woman getting assaulted regardless if the perp was George Floyd or George Jetson.
