He was well coached. There was a point inside this self-induced episode, where he sneaked the glance at the jury. Total theater.

If he walks, his address and the judge's address should make the rounds in a nanosecond.

Nothing negative will happen to him. He’ll be signing autographs with George Zimmerman at a gun show near you.

    Kyle Rittenhouse: see Hanns Ludin.

I hate to post such negativity on Veteran's Day, but the similarities to the rise of the Third Reich are striking and ominous. We're way closer to July 1932 than the Beer Hall Putsch, although Trump is way too stupid to write Mein Kampf even if the DOJ could figure out how to imprison him.

However, there are definitely enough power-mad Republicans with the smarts to orchestrate the New Enabling Act and take us down a road we've traveled before, except from the Allied side. If the GOP allies with Putin and China as the New Axis, and we've taken Canada by force, is what's left of the Free World enough to storm the beaches and repel our oppressors?

I still believe there is still a large majority of Americans who see the truth, know what's at stake and would be willing to fight for their freedoms. But it's a very dangerous time, with particularly bloody consequences in the future. There is enough division in the country that a real Hitler 2.0 could emerge and use the might of our own military against us.

The pushback against the growing and vocal far right/racist bloc needs to be swift and harsh. But I see no one in power right now with the courage to do so.

This judge is acting out his Lance Ito fantasies, he thinks the trial is about him as he steers the jury to acquit. From what I’ve read, he’s always been a defense oriented judge. But the second he took time during the trial to refute a TV lawyer, it was the end for a fair trial. Judges in trials should be like children in Edwardian England, seen rarely and heard even less.

Will the judge's behavior be grounds for appeal?
