Black Lives Matter, for instance, isn’t a call for special rights, but a reminder that a racist public is no public at all.

It's been about a half hour now and the song is firmly planted in my head, most likely for the rest of the day and I can handle that. It's fine.

But the imagery is also planted, fuck me.

    https://www.clickondetroit.com/news...s-endured-slurs-vulgarity-at-south-lyon-game/

    Several points here:

    1) South Lyon is about 20 miles from the states rural center of KKK activities, near Howell/Brighton. It used to be a hillbilly farm community but now it's a freeway suburb for the NW corner of the metro Detroit area.

    2) amazing how South Lyon officials can tell, from the garbled audio tape, that the shouter was "not part of the South Lyon student section."

    3) Not sure exactly what East Lansing parents wanted the refs to do about one random shout during the anthem while everybody's attention was focused 180 degrees the opposite direction.

    4) Historically East Lansing has itself been a whiter than white community and student body, especially compared to the adjacent Lansing school district. Up into the 90s ELHS would typically have only a handful of Black players on the team. This has changed significantly in the last 20 years or so as schools of choice programs have allowed many out of district students to move in; the football team is now about 25-30 percent Black. When the whole Kapernick kneel-or-not-to-kneel controversy started 3/4 years ago, they had some players who wanted to kneel and some who did not. The official position of the school district was, "kneel or don't kneel as you see fit;" the football players voted, "either we all kneel or none kneel." Since then the whole team has kneeled. There have been intermittent comments from opposing fans.

    5) South Lyon won the playoff game in a runaway.

    6) East Lansing's football uniforms are directly based on/copied from ... Penn State.

Would love to see Trump play that at one of his rallies, if only because Lemmy might rise from the grave and beat the shit out of him.

Yeah, Judge Proudboy is gonna let him walk scot-free. On everything. Probably sentence him to two weeks all expenses paid at Disney World.
