    No. No. JFC no.
I don't care how many black men break a law. It never gives the police the right to be judge, jury and executioner. Full f****** stuff.

People asked me where I was from the first few weeks I was in school in the East Bay. When I told them I'd transferred in from Mississippi, people would say "We have the biggest Klan chapter in Berkely/Marin/NE Oakland. Yeah. Thanks for letting me know.

Not sure if that's more sexist or racist or just stupid. Used to be the way for a black man to find himself some trouble was to date a white woman. Orange County is still weird, even if a little less conservative. They had that ADA Covid-denier who died of Covid a couple of months back. Just weird.

I do hope we get to a place where we will look back on this period as one where people did a lot of weird stuff, said a lot of dumb and dangerous things - rather than all of the stuff today being "normalized."

The NJ teen (Joey, a white-passing Latino) who was treated kindly by police compared to how they treated his Black peer after their fight in a mall?

“I knew it was wrong, and I knew there was gonna be problems when they did that,” 15-year-old Joey, who was involved in the fight, said. “They didn’t go for me.”

Tuesday night, he told PIX11 News — with his mother’s permission — that he couldn’t believe he wasn’t also placed in cuffs.

“I didn’t understand why,” the teen said. “I even offered to get handcuffed as well.”

I've seen cartoons showing this kind of stuff, but seeing it in video is horrendous. A) There is no way the cops received a report on the radio indicating the black kid was the aggressor and B) for officers to turn their backs on one of the combatants should probably mean at least one of them gets canned. I'm sure the police union will have a very strong defense of their actions though.

In my more intemperate days, I’d point out that there’s a certain epithet for a guy named Cruz.

Worth a watch for the discussion of Critical Race Theory and the way conservative parents and politicians are using false definitions of it to fuck up education.

It would almost be worth it to turn in my lady card if I could spend 30 minutes belabouring him with a hockey stick. What if I did it like a lady? Okay, Chelios with boobs. I dunno. He just looks so punchable.
