Boise's gonna get the Utah treatment.

    -- Run the table
-- Beat a BCS-conference team that "wasn't in to it"
    -- Finish No. 2 overall

/Time to see if the google can point me toward any examples of teams ducking Boise State to see if that argument holds any water

I dont think that holds true this time.
Boise runs the table, it's in -- IF the Big 10/12, Big 12/10 SEC and Pac-10 come up with three one-loss champions.
The SEC will pitch a fit, but title game spots aren't a birthright.

The only team I can see running the table is Alabama and even that might be a stretch. Unlike the WAC, the SEC, Big 10, & Big 12 are very balanced this year. Bama is probably the closest thing to a dominant team in that group.

Boise has a great opportunity to get its ass handed to them in January. Get by Oregon State and it's smooth sailing the rest of the way.

I'll be interested to see how many of the national punditry have wheels on their goalposts come tomorrow morning.

Boise's still got to beat Oregon State.

    That's a toss-up.

Could the Broncos contend with an undefeated BCS conference team for he national title? Maybe. Should they be given the chance after several years of national relevance? With an undefeated season, yes, emphatically so.

But this year, you might see the Pac 10's Oregon, the Big "12"'s Texas/Oklahoma/Nebraska, the Big "Ten"'s Ohio State/Iowa and the Big East's West Virginia go undefeated, leaving four undefeated BCS teams (forgiving if Alabama doesn't run the table with a deceptively hard schedule including at least three opponents coming off bye weeks). So who do you choose? I still say Boise State should get a shot, but the chances are slim.

As Mustang said: "Never go to sleep on Boise," and I think that holds true beyond the literal meaning that we both learned.

Time and time again Boise State is supposed to gets its ass handed to it. And, that Georgia game aside, it doesn't happen. I think anyone holding their breath for a repeat of Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl would be greatly disappointed.

And please note: Broncs will be favored over Oregon State by double digits.

VT favored all day, game day. Cherry on top of big line moves getting their ass handed to them, all weekend.

We ARE talking about the home of the Vickthugs, after all.

Both. We're not having TCU or Boise State in any national title game. Period. Even if it means taking a 2-loss team from the SEC (see 2007, LSU).
