It was something I watched sitting at grandmother's house wondering when the hell we were going to eat!

AJ Green gets a 4-game suspension from the NCAA.

Would've been better off actually going to that party in Miami. Or beating up an off-duty cop.

Four games for selling a jersey?

Wowsers and does the four games include the opener or is it the next four?

Yes, the opener plus South Carolina, Arkansas and Mississippi State. Will return Oct. 2 against Colorado.

And apparently, he sold the jersey to someone who "fits the NCAA's definition of an agent."

He's donated $1,000 to charity, and Georgia is appealing in an attempt to get the suspension reduced.

Don't they have a class or something for athletes that says, among other things, "you can't sell your jersey!"? Good god, if this keeps up I'm going to have to find another team to root for. This off-the-field shit is ridiculous.

Funniest thing is that the rule on this kind of stuff was implemented after some football players sold their conference championship rings on ebay.

The school those guys were from?

    Georgia.

My question: Does Georgia have any players who aren't stupid? Because no matter where you stand on the issue of player benefits -- personally, I think the players should be paid -- the fact remains that this is a rule and Green broke it. Yes, it's a disingenuous rule, given the financial landscape of the sport. Still, I cannot imagine the players aren't told when they arrive on campus, "you cannot sell your jersey/helmet/cleats/autograph." And he did it anyway. If they aren't told, then the compliance officer should be fired.

My guess is that AJ knows and AJ thinks the rule is horse hockey.

Why is the person to whom the jersey was sold not identified?

Georgia might have compliance issues, but at least we know how to take a damn shower.
