This is something I've been pondering a little bit, figured I'd throw it out there.

This dynasty has been great for years, but it seems to be petering out a bit which is disappointing to me. We've had some cool people leave which hasn't helped, but it seems like even CPU games are taking forever to play nowadays and things are dragging along.

Also, nobody ever posts anything anymore about the games. For a while I was the only posting boxes of user games and then I just stopped because it seemed odd to be the only one doing it. There's no more globex times (or whatever it was called) and generally not as much fun outside of the actual games.

Why? Is this thing running its course for everybody? I hope not because I still enjoy the heck out of it and it's my favorite thing about this site.

Well, I'll throw this out there because I feel I'm in the same boat as you, Jake.

First of all, the SJ NCAA dynasty is the first thread I look for/read when I get on SportsJournalists.com. I enjoy the hell out of this league and I don't want to see it fall apart. Having said that, after I advance to the next week, I'm going to allow for a three day window for CPU games and a five day window for USER games. Hopefully this will speed up the advancing and keep everyone into the league.

I love reading the box scores, Jake. It gives me an idea how you play the game. I'll admit, I've been slacking with the weekly updates (Top 25, Heisman, etc) and I apologize.

Where is the shit talking?!??! Ha, but really, some friendly banter wouldn't hurt.

Yeah, never a whole lot of shit talking here, it's been very good-spirited which I like. And I wasn't trying to single anyone out about posting stuff, outside of boxes I hardly did any of that myself.

I like the time limit with the obvious caveat that a good excuse provided ahead of time gets the person off the hook, especially for user games.

I try to give a short summary of my game. Never really did boxscores, mainly because I was too lazy.

Some of the lack of trash talk is probably more from some people not posting as much here anymore, for whatever reasons.

There were some weeks we went a long time between games, a lot of that because of road trips/vacations by people. So that may have contributed some to less trash talking as well.

But I am definitely willing to keep this year's going as long as all of you do. I'm not completely decided whether I'm getting NCAA 12 yet or not, though.

I'll play tonight or tomorrow morning. And I feel that unless there are user games for either of us that I'm forgetting, a showdown between my offense and that stingy Purdue defense is looming. Looking forward to it, if it happens.

    #7 Purdue 31, #6 Iowa 24

The mighty, mighty Boilermakers were caught by surprise early and trailed 10-0 early in the first half before tying it 10-10 at halftime. They lost starting QB Marve last week to a back injury for 3 weeks and lost starting star senior tailback Bolden for six weeks in the first half of this game with a torn shoulder.

The game was tied at 17 early in the fourth quarter before Purdue used a beautiful play-action pass and a 54-yard TD run by back-up running back McBurse to take a two TD lead. Iowa cut it to 31-24 with 29 seconds remaining, but Purdue recovered the ensuing onside kick and took a couple of knees to preserve the hard-earned W.

And Jake I still have one more user game left this season...against unbeaten UCF in Week 14.

I should be able to get my game in Tuesday evening.

And Jake and Jojo owe me a steak dinner for beating Boise. :D (ok, ok, a good bar burger? ah hell, just make it a White Castle).
