Vancouver just quit tonight, but their D were exposed when Boston finally decided to play aggressively. These two teams are pretty evenly matched, but Vancouver obviously missed Hamhuis tonight. Boston can just put Tyler Seguin back in the lineup to replace Horton, which is replacing a veteran with some offensive talent with a rookie with a lot of offensive talent.

To be honest, not sure. I thought Campbell resigned immediately since his son was on the Bruins.

You are definitely right about the divers, Canucks employ too many of them.

I disagree about dirty as I think almost every team in the league has their share of incidents. Lucic punched Burrows in the back of the head when he was on his knees, it's hockey.

Exposed or had a bad game? They definitely miss Hamhuis.

What's getting missed in this is that Thomas made some great saves early that could have changed the complexion of this game.

JC - I think every team in the league has dirty players. IMO, Vancouver has well more than average and slightly more than Boston, but that's a matter of opinion. Boston certainly isn't a choir of angels. Every team has at least a couple of guys that cross the line either deliberately or because they just get out of control, and the perceived number per team usually depends on your rooting interest.

Hank - Mike Murphy is in charge of the discipline for this series, I believe, because of the Campbell situation. He's no better than his boss when it comes to suspension consistency.

And Bob McKenzie just Tweeted that Rome has a hearing tomorrow morinig.

Bieksa dived like Greg Louganis. He didn't even miss a shift.

And more than half the NHL would've popped Burrows from behind like Lucic did after that bad Ric Flair act behind the net.

That said, the refs were smart to hand out the misconducts. This could've really gotten out of control.

Tonight made me glad to be a Bruins fan. Lots of hitting early, and they shook off that 5-minute PP bagel with PP goals later, plus two shorties. Paille is great on the PK and always has been dangerous shorthanded. He's been a good pickup as fourth liner, PK guy.
Would love to have seen more punches thrown, like Thornton squaring off with Kesler or just going to whale on Stan Smyl or Trevor Linden, wherever the hell they are.

All I know is, Vancouver won their victories barely. Boston kicked ass tonight. I'm happy.

And so far in the series, Boston's awful special teams have netted 3 PPGs and 2 SHGs. Vancouver's PP has one goal.

Vancouver, at least in Games 1 & 2, was better 5-on-5 (definitely not so tonight), which is supposed to be Boston's strength.

If the Bruins can continue to establish 5-on-5 play like they did tonight and the STs are even, Zdeno Chara is going to be holding the Cup in a week.

It wasn't difficult to resist the urge to say something stupid, like "save some of those goals for the next game." I'm ecstatic that they got eight behind Luongo. The Canucks are going to say all the right things, like let's just put this behind us, it's only one game, etc. I would do the same thing.

But there has to be some doubt creeping in now. More importantly, the Bruins know they can score on this team.

Letting in eight has to mess with Luongo's head as well. Boston attacked the high glove side and will continue to do so until Luongo proves he can stop it.
