I was wondering if that wouldn't be pretty high up on the list. Teams traded two 2-goal wins and then Detroit unleashed a 5-0 assbeating in G5. Pens then finished with a pair of 1-goal wins.

And it looks like Boston just dodged a bullet.

Maybe I watch too much cable news programming, but Tim Thomas bears a striking resemblance to Patrick Cox of Tax Masters.

Game 7. This is where you want to be.
If you're Vancouver, this is why you battle for home ice advantage all season. If you're Boston, well, there's 28 other teams wishing they were in your place.
If I'm Canucks management, I'm not allowing Luongo anywhere near a microphone tonight.

You've gotta start Luongo. I get that.

But how quickly do you pull him if he looks shaky early in G7? One early goal? Two?

With one exception (maybe two), Luongo has been rock steady in Vancouver during the Stanley Cup playoffs. He'd have to give up 3 in short succession to get pulled.

And I think Boston needs to get to him early Wednesday. The longer it takes to break through, the more confidence Luongo will have.

I won't make excuses for the Canucks but if Henrik Sedin scores in the first minute or so off the Bieksa shot from the end boards, it's an entirely different game. Damn puck goes over his stick.

After that Luongo shits the bed. Short side over the glove and then a five holer.

Impossible to predict game seven but I bet Tim Thomas wins the Conn Smythe no matter who wins The Cup.

Watching Doug Weight on the NHL Network post-game panel. He's being a bit of a dick to the (female) anchor.

    No question.

And if Chris Kelly doesn't bang the pipe high glove-side/Bergeron gets a shot a millimeter higher on Friday, we'd be watching a Cup celebration right now.

First goal means everything in this series, especially with a mercurial goaltender like Luongo who can either be all-world or look like a peewee.

Something else to keep in mind is Vancouver's attrition during this series. Losing Hamhuis and Rome have stretched the Canucks defense to the limit. Looks like Raymond's probably done now, too.

What exactly did Raymond injure? His leg or hip?

That's been huge. Boston has lost Nathan Horton -- which is huge as he's been their best skater not named Patrice Bergeron in the postseason -- but they just replaced him with possibly their best pure offensive talent (besides Horton/Krejci) in Tyler Seguin. Hamhuis is probably just as big of a loss for the Canucks, but he doesn't have a comparable replacement.

Vancouver has lost two defensemen, although I wasn't that impressed by Rome earlier in the series, he was still a dependable third-pairing guy, and they've been reduced to using Ballard/Tanev in that role. If Raymond is gone, that's another significant loss. Kesler is nowhere near 100%, either.

    Undisclosed as of now.

Going back to the video of that hit, how about those classy Bruins fans chanting (I believe) "Liar" while Raymond is collapsed immobile on the ice?
