Doesn't look that severe? He stomped his foot with a sharp blade, of course he should be suspended, but this being the NHL who knows.

3-0 Wings after 1 period. Doc Emory just called the Coyotes the Washington Generals.

JR: You mentioned the Rangers coach John Tortorella. Thought you might like this feature about him which really shows a different side of him, from his days in Tampa Bay...

Capitals are looking like potential champs. They are long overdue. If Nuevirth can keep his fine 'tending, they should do some major damage. Vancouver is the team to beat though.

So, two home wins (including one in OT) over a team that backed into the playoffs on the last day when Carolina lost and they're looking like potential champs?

Caps are a very strong and motivated team and had tough luck to lose seven game series the last two years. GM McPhee is a very astute manager and has made some positive revisions to the roster (Arnott in particular). I know people have doubts about the goalie but he's looking good so far.

It doesn't really matter how the Ranger eked into the post season. Look at how the Flyers got in last year (a shootout win over the Rangers). Then they overcame 0-3 to the Bruins and made the finals.

OK. Two wins, including one in OT, over a team with no discernable offense -- particularly since one of its few actual weapons was lost for the season.

Look, maybe this is the Caps year. But to think beating the Rangers is going to prove anything to anybody ...

We'll see my friend. Who do you see raising the Cup in June, the Sedin brothers?

NBC switched games to Versus in the past when it was contractually forced to check out because of other events (Kentucky Derby, Preakness, etc.). I've never seen them do it in the late time slot, although I suppose if the game went ridiculously long and threatened something important in prime time, they might, esp. since now that both NBC and Versus are part of the Comcast family. Versus, however, has its own Sunday night game at 8 pm ET, so not too much wiggle room there, either.

Much more of a possibility in the May sweeps period if NBC has some heavily-promoted movie or special slated for prime time.

On days of the horse races (May 7 and 21), NBC starts early and prays for nothing longer than one overtime. Advertisers who purchase time on the racing telecast may not want their ad spots stuck in something other programming.

I don't have the slightest idea. It's as open as I can ever remember it being. My only point is that it's a little early to be sucking the Caps' dicks (or anybody else's for that matter).

If someone has a strong opinion about making a prediction of the future, it's always nice to read it.

Those who like to sit back and just spectate and go with the flow, that's cool too.
