If 1982 was the "Miracle on Manchester" for the Kings, is 2011 the "Flameout on Figueroa"? Watching some of the post-game interviews now and they are a crushed team. Really, really shoddy puck recognition from the second period on, which is strange because that's usually a strength of the Kings.

I was thinking more "Fuck up on Figueroa," but flameout works.

There were no "playoff" games tonight. I hope playoff hockey resumes tomorrow.

That was the Sharks' feed from Comcast Sports Bay Area.

Yes, nice comeback. But why did they have to come back? Because Niemi was a freaking sieve for the second straght game. Why the hell is he even out there after the first period? And why don't the Sharks get anything together offensively until after he's gone? Yes, hockey's different, but some things just don't add up, especially when it comes to the Sharks.

Any outfit which willingly employs Sean Avery deserves all the bad karma it can't handle.

At least two of the Sharks' goals came off a guy cruising down the backside when every defender was facing the puck.

Add in the Frenzy on Figueroa in 2001 against the Red Wings where LA scored 3 times in the last 8 minutes and won it in OT 4-3, and seems like the Kings have been in on the lion's share of memorable playoff comebacks in the past 25 -30 years.

The Blues 'Miracle on Monday Night' over Calgary is another 3 goal third period comeback I can recall.

Anyone have any others that they'd like to add to the list?

Can you imagine the media meltdown if the Kings played in a town that gave a shit about hockey?

Washington Post and Times reporting Mike Knuble is out for Game 4 ... possible hand injury. Jason Chimera jumps to the first line with Ovechkin-Backstrom tonight, Eric Fehr plays on the third line.

  12. You clearly went to bed at 4-0 Los Angeles.
