Pretty much agree with JR on his picks.

    Caps in six.

    Flyers in six.

    Wings in seven.

    Canucks in six.

I'll stick with my guns on my original Stanley Cup picks, although I'm thinking the Flyers may be the most potent team in the East

    Bruins in 7

    Lightning in 6

    Canucks in 5

    Sharks in 6

    Then,

    Bruins in 7

    Sharks in 6

    And finally,

    Sharks in 5

Why? It looked more like a shoulder than an elbow, and Ference didn't even move his feet. Good non-call.

I like the Bruins, given Philly's instability in goal. What a matchup - a team that went 0-for-22 on the power play (and gave up a shorthander in Game 7), and a team that hooked three different goalies in the course of a series. More likely to see the PP drought end.

Last night, the Bruins avenged one of the two worst rip-your-guts-out defeats in franchise history (the Bergeron penalty made me think immediately of too many men on the ice in the '79 conference final). Here's a chance to avenge the other one.

Puck was nowhere near and Ference leaned into him. Ference knew exactly what he was doing. It was a complete cheapshot.

They won round one, I don't think that avenges a thing

Must say the first round of the fight for Lord Stanley' Cup this year has been one of the best I've ever seen. Four series went to game seven, the most in the first round since 1995, a couple of those Game 7s went to overtime, and craziness every night.
There were 14 overtime games - the most since 2001 - and half of the series went the distance. Each of the final nine days of the first round featured an overtime game.

He might as well have been a healthy scratch for the series--and I'm a big Lucic fan as well.

His skill outweighs his over the top actions. He'll grow out of it.

Loved watching him in the OHL. Spend most of his time behind the other team's icing line because when the transition started, he was faster than anyone else on the ice. And as Huggy will attest his coach just let him loose.

Pekka has gone from below average to lifesaver. Preds D looks scared.

The Rogers Arena has the feel of a funeral home. Quite a difference from two nights ago.
