Yeah, we don't need another Harper dictatorship.

Best analysis I've read about Harper's contempt for both Parliament & democracy. I know this is a broken record because I also posted it over on the election thread over at Anything Goes

Here at the Shark Tank and sharks dominating but down 1-0.

Well, now that it's on the Stanley Cup thread, more Canadians will notice it.

Seriously, I wish I could be up there if Vancouver or Montreal makes it to the finals. The atmosphere in Calgary for the Junior championship opener was unreal, so I can't imagine how a city reacts to a possible NHL title.

The Wings game was hard to watch, even though they led 1-0 for most of the game. Zetterberg looked very average coming back from injury, Franzen was quiet, Datysuk played well and got a lot of shots. ... Howard was the best player on the ice for either time I thought, just didn't get any help.

The way SJ won hurts a lot. They killed off a 4-minute PP and then allow a fluke goal on a ricochet. Game 2 is a must win after the way things played out last year, but Niemmi is not invincible. The long layoff proved to be a detriment for Detroit, too.

Can we please find Pierre McGuire a GM job so we aren't subjected to him anymore?

Just to acknowledge: Bruins 7, Flyers 3. Nothing to see here. Please move along. When your series is over, the plastic disc will vibrate and the little red lights will go on. Until then, please sit patiently and wait for your sandwich.

118+ scoreless minutes before Nashville finally figures out where to shoot from: the corner behind Luongo.

    A minute away from OT.

The Canucks remind me more and more of the late 1990s Dallas Stars. Playing essentially trap hockey, employing a ton of clutch and grab (which hey, they win and if you're allowed to get away with it by the referees, that's their fault for not calling it, not yours for playing that way) and a temperamental but hugely talented goalie with a reputation for choking when it matters most.

Nashville is quite willing to clutch, grab and interfere right back. That's why we're only going to have four goals through two games no matter who wins this one.

How devastating is this for Vancouver, though? Going from the verge of up 2-0 to OT?

I think Vancouver's proven they can come back from devastating.

It's only devastating if they lose, I think. If they win, they can chalk it up to a flukey goal and trapping too early after going up instead of pushing for a second goal. If they lose, it only raises more questions about Luongo.
