Wings come back from a 1-0 deficit in the third, score two in less than two minutes with less than ten to go, score an empty netter and we have game seven.

If you follow an Eastern Conference team that's left in the playoffs (or Vancouver), this is an "oh crap" moment. Detroit, IMO, is the most dangerous matchup for any of the three teams that have clinched spots in the conference finals. As a fan of one of the said Eastern Conference teams, I'd much rather see them play Vancouver or San Jose than Detroit right now (then again, there's four games that have to be won before anyone can look that far).

Detroit played well in 2 of the first 3 games and lost. Now they've played out of their mind in the last 3 games and won them all. This puck possession they've been playing with this past week is reminiscent of the series against PHX and all those games in the mid 90s when they still had Konstantinov and Lidstrom killing bitches out there.

I have been a Bruins fan since 1982 and I couldn't care less who they play in the Finals. Just want them to get there and let the chips fall where they may.

I'd like to see the Bruins in the final since they are an original 6 team. I think a Bruins-Wings matchup would be awesome.

Short of a plane crash, earthquake or other disaster, give me a reason San Jose wins? I can think of none. Just another "oh, gee whiz, foiled again" moment in franchise history.

Ray Ferraro said it best on the TSN broadcast, "The Wings have the heart of a champion".

Down a goal with less than ten to go in the third, they just take over.

Sharks aren't even in this game without Niemi. Too many passengers for SJ in this game, Marleau and Heatly in particular. Sharks are a good team but they have so called stars who are soft and don't compete when the going gets tough.

As Crimsonace said, if I were either Boston or Tampa, I wouldn't want to meet the Wings in the Final (oh btw, not Finals)

Detroit is a vampire. They will never die

And I'm with Mustang: a Wings/Bruins Original Six Final would be awesome. And no shitty Pacific Time Zones to deal with.

I don't even know who I'd cheer for if that happened. Probably the Wings because of the Shanahan Mimico connection.

    Or maybe not. :)

Been a Bruins fan nearly as long, and I'm with you. 1990 was probably the best postseason matchup the Bruins have ever had, and they gakked it. They have to get past Tampa first, but of the four other teams left, there is one that the Bruins looked awful against head-to-head this year, and that's Detroit.

Hopefully it will be a happy birthday day for you on game 7, like it was for me on game 6. :D

My birthday is in eight minutes and I'm on top of the world! Healthy, breaking into the sports business and get to witness the most epic Red Wings game (aside from Stanley Cup Finals game) in my lifetime with 20 of my closest friends!

The game reminded me of those old Wings/Avalanche games in the 90s. So intense, great goaltending, crazy goals, etc. The Wings are the antithesis of the Lakers and even if they lose Game 7, I will still be proud. All you can ask for out of your team is that they don't ever mail it in.

Damien Cox has a pretty good analysis of the Octopus vs the Sharks and who Vancouver would like to meet in the Conference Final.

    http://thestar.blogs.com/thespin/2011/05/the-octopus-and-the-shark.html

The Wings seem to be surging, the Sharks stumbling around the final turn of this very good series. From a Vancouver standpoint, the Wings, if they were to survive might well be the tougher opponent, for the always uncertain confidence of San Jose surely has been shaken regardless of the Game 7 result.

As someone who wants the Canucks to win, I'd take the Sharks.
