Well ... Dominik Hasek was good enough for a team to get to the finals thanks to his stellar play to cover up not-so-stellar skaters. And for whom did he play at the time?

Opening night and our first overtime. Love it.

"Shea Webber's shot is like a bowling ball."

So says Al McGinnis. And the scoreboard reads 1-0 Preds.

Semin scores in overtime, gets clotheslined to the ice by Ovechkin. Nice.

Vancouver made Chicago look awful and slow in the first period. If that keeps up, this is a sweep.

I know that. But call it a soft fourth; few clutch goals, little movement off the puck, and a return to the notion to set up a perfect shot rather than fire and fight for a rebound. If you watched them all the time, and worked their locker room on a nightly basis (it misses Madden greatly), you would have no faith in them.

I'm sorry, but that's horsecrap. They were 4th in the league. It was a good pp. I may not have watched every game, but I watched most. The "they didn't score clutch goals" is just a way of waving away inconvenient facts, like the fact that it scored goals at a rate higher than all but three teams in the league.

Now, if you want to rip on the PK, I'm right with you.

We'll disagree on the PP and heartliy agree on the PK. To use a Phil Esposito word, stinkaroo. Hey, Hawks just got a PP; let's see what happens.

Three shots on the PP for the Hawks plus another off the post. Good entry play, shots and rebounds. What they should be doing, and don't, all the time.

Good thing Semin scored because that game looked like quadruple overtime looming. It was like both teams were playing thinking there was a shootout at the end of the first OT

Gotta love first round. At one point I was watching three games: Caps/Rangers OT on TSN, Ducks Preds on TSN2 and the Canucks/Hawks on CBC

I'm envious. My Canadian dish (hooray for the gray market!) is on the blink so I'm stuck with just Versus until the replacement part arrives.
