Off the glass support and caromed to Bieksa. Only guy in the place who had a clue. It two-hopped by Niemi.

So now the Canucks hope that the TB/Boston games goes seven games.

Luongo made 54 saves in the game.

Damn, I hate to see a series end on a goal like that.

HAHAHA Sharks have no luck at all. That team needs to be broken up somehow.

Easy to say, hard to do. Sure, trade off all the top guys, win 15 games next year and rebuild like the Edmonton Oilers. Fans will love that.

Hey, I know it's frustrating to get so close and not get over the hump. But wholesale changes rarely result in immediate improvement. Either you tweak things here and there and hope for better luck next year or you're content with a massive rebuilding effort and wait 5 years or so.

Sports wise it is similar to living in Vancouver. Aesthetics's, not so much

I disagree, San Jose deserved a better fate tonight and maybe in game 4. IMO the best team won, that is not a choke. Having said that I think the Sharks are the second best team in the league, not saying the Canucks will win but if you had to rank the final 4 the winner of this series would be the favourites. They are to slow on the back end and need to address that. Funny they dumped Erhoffs salary on the Canucks when they traded for Heatley, wonder if they would do that again considering that is exactly what they need.

There are about 25 other teams that would trade places with the Sharks right now.

Except the Sharks have been in this same position since, say, 18 years ago when the breakaway goal in Game 6 at Maple Leaf Garden went off the post. Then there's Selanne's wraparound that wasn't vs. Colorado in Game 7 say, 10 years or so ago. You want a choke? The Ducks series three years ago.

You could take the 2010 Canadian Olympic team that won the gold medal, put them in Sharks sweater and they would absolutely find a way to lose. Call them freak goals if you want, but they still count just as much as "normal" goals, and the Sharks find ways to give them up every single time.

What do the Sharks need to do? Spend the summer at AT&T Park, not just watching baseball, drinking beer and snarfing down garlic fries, but studying, night after night, how the Giants win ... playing your ass off every shift, selling out, every game ... then apply it to the ice. Then maybe, just maybe, you won't be in a posiiton where you have to run the table to get to the Cup final, or where "freak" goals cost you a chance at advancing.

Because, men of teal, the current act has gotten might tired.

I'd love to be tired of my team getting to the WCF two years in a row.

And not for nothing, but the Garpenlov shot was from the high slot and was 17 years ago.

Brutal way for it to end for the Sharks.

I too would take my team at least making it to the conference finals.

Agree on the AT&T part there.

The Sharks team that I saw in Gm. 5 was not the same one that played in games 1, 2 & 4. What team played those games? The Sharks carried the play in the first OT and much of the 2nd. Putting constant pressure on Luongo.

Freaky goal though, lame way to end it. Thankfully it was not as weird as I thought (thought it came out of the air and hit Niemi on the back and went in.) 29 secs to end it and you can't. Brutal.
