The Bruins have been in an even bigger hole than this. They dropped the first two to Montreal AT HOME. They dropped the opener to Tampa Bay AT HOME.
They just made three mistakes Saturday night: Two Ference weak-ass clearing passes that led to goals, including the game-winner. And someone not piling Burrows through the glass the first chance they got.
And all the talk about Thomas being too aggressive...give me a break. This is the same style of goaltending that produced the league's highest save percentage and possibly a second Vezina in three years.

The Bruins just look like mud out there. They are noticeably slower, have much less firepower, and Thomas has single-handedly kept them in games. Their defensemen turn the puck over too much (and it cost them on the biggest stage). On the other hand, the Canucks have all the momentum and haven't even played their best yet. Obviously tonight is a must-win for the B's.

The Canucks have exposed Chara as a lumbering skater with questionable passing skills and puzzling decision making. They've taken advantage of him again and again. Don't get me wrong. Chara's a scary presence and I like him out on the point on the power play, but he's been very exploitable.

I figure Boston comes out storming and wins this game rather handily. The energy they will come out with should get them an early lead and they will take it from there.

Don't think the league wants a short series, so I expect the Bruins to get the benefit of the doubt on officiating in Game 3.

Biting has always been a suspendable offense since the league got embarrassed by the Hatcher mess in the early part of the decade.

As for history and context about who starts what, here's something for you to chew on:

"BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -Ottawa Senators forward Jarkko Ruutu was suspended by the NHL on Wednesday for two games without pay for biting Buffalo Sabres enforcer Andrew Peters....

Peters was penalized for sparking the skirmish when he repeatedly rubbed the palm of his glove into Ruutu's face. Ruutu was not penalized."

I know you're a Canucks homer, but you're still better than the argument you're making.

*several* steamboats in between when Horton passed the puck and when the hit came.
