In terms of quality, S60 is probably among the top 10 shows on network TV. But considering its hype and its Sorkin pedigree, that wasn't good enough. Heyabbott is right. The show was disappointing to those who were expecting something on the level of the West Wing at its best, or the Sopranos, etc, so those viewers gave up on it. The folks who like their TV simple and unchallenging gave up on it, too. It's a shame that a TV landscape that has room for Deal or No Deal and Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader can't find a place for Studio 60.

And what's with the hate for Amanda Peet? Gorgeous and funny in the same package. She would have been more believable as Harriet Hayes than what's-her-name was.

I liked the episode a lot. I laughed out loud three times (and for me that's saying something). I'm gonna miss this show and Weber's character.

    Couple of my favorite lines:
    -Have a good show.
    - Don't see how.

    &

    - How do you know this?
    - The FBI is open on Fridays.

Big Sorkin fan, and loved the show last fall. Since it's been off the air, I've missed it. But when the show ended last nite, I called a friend and said "Oh. That's why it got cancelled." Contrast it to Wednesday's "Lost" or the last couple "Heroes" or... a couple of other things on the air this season. It's a sentimental trip for us Wing fans, but just. not. very. good. Pains me to say that.

Nice to see it back - who was Simon's back-up date to Hawaii? damn hot. I thought it was curious that none of the three leads were on, but it did give the show a chance to breathe, liked the Christine Lahti reference (odd since she played a journalist on the show earlier in the season)
I think next week's "breaking news" will be the death of an (ex-) president or some sort of tragedy that will make coming back "live" after the report difficult, and cause soul-searching, poignancy and all that crap...

I recognize it's flawed, but I like it anyway.

Here's the O Holy Night from the Christmas episode.

I hope not. The show gets into trouble when Sorkin tries to make it about more than just putting on a late-night comedy. That said, it would be a nice nod to the West Wing if the breaking news was the death of former prez Jed Bartlett.

Broadway, that's a good idea about Bartlett.
    He did have health problems.

um, except that c.j. hosted "studio 60" and josh is its exec producer. that would just be too much crossover, don't ya think?

    And Danny directs the show.

Well, I didn't say it would necessarily make sense. :)
