And they referenced Bush-Cheney in the opener, which means Matthew Vincente Santos is not the president . . .

Yikes. I'm as big a fanboy as any for this show, but how on earth does an episode of that show get made without ANY screen time for the main characters?

    I enjoyed the show.

Watched the DVR with Mrs. Joe tonight. There aren't many good three-hour blocks on network TV these days, and that (edited to slightly over two hours without the commercials) was good. If that had been NBC's Thursday night schedule from the start of last season, Studio 60 might still be with us.

And whatever it is that gives actors chemistry with one another, it's clear that Busfield and Janney have it in boatloads.

Oh, and one last reason why Bartlett can't be the one that dies.

The last episode of WW had a flash-forward to the opening of the presidential library and Bartlett was still alive.

Maybe it will be to announce the death of Col. Jessup or the cancellation of "Sports Night"

Agreed, they are awesome together. And why weren't Whitfield and Perry in this episode?

Cash. I believe that the three leads gave up an episode's pay in a last ditch effort to make the show more economically attractive.

I seem to recall Abbey telling Leo that any kind of illness could trigger some immune-system problems that could lead to death.

that was quite the dramatic reach. again, m.s. isn't fatal.

Ok, now we know what the news was....and it was probably obvious halfway through the show, if not before, where it was going.

But when you do the predictable plot twist that well, I don't care if I saw it coming. The scene with Tom Jeter at the end was everything I hoped this show would be....well written and well executed.

This was the first time in a while I felt I might actually miss this show when it's gone.
