Another good episode tonight. Enjoyed the Harry/Matt dynamic near the end.

Just 16 minutes into it, while hopping around to other stuff.

I thought the Harry/Matt montage effectively illustrated how the Harry/Matt dynamic served to kill this series.

    I'd agree with that.

This whole Tom's brother is a POW storyline seems forced. As does the Jordan emergency delivery.

The political stuff seems an effort to to regain the West Wing fan base.
Alas! All is lost. and a chance for Sorkin to stick it to the GOP.

Having all that chaos at once does seem a bit much. Makes me wonder if they knew the show was toast by the time these were filmed and sped things up. It sure seems like they were doing this as if they wanted to jam a thousan things in before it ended.

That said, I love the execution of the stories the last two weeks. The scenes in the hospital were very well done. Reminds me why I like Bradley Whitford's work so much. Yes, the engagement as they are waiting to take Jordan away for the emergency C-section was a bit over-the-top, but I was entertained.

But it was the reactions of the characters that got me. Jordan simply listened to the doctor and didn't even seem concerned about the surgery. She didn't have the time or energy to be upset about it.

But the look on Whitford's face after they took her away was perfect. Happy as he was about the engagement and the baby, you could see he was more scared and helpless than anything.

Maybe it's just because I've been there. When my wife was pregnant with our daughter, there was a time they were concerned about preeclampsia (which was the problem with Jordan's pregnancy) very early on, but it ended up not being a problem. My wife ended up having to have a C-section for other reasons, mostly because my little one was a VERY big baby. And she was more relieved than anything heading into surgery. I had never been more scared nor felt more helpless in my life. So to me, the actor's performances were dead on.

That was Danny, not Casey. That episode remains my favorite ep of Sports Night ever, and the first episode I ever saw. I miss it. *sniffle*

That episode reminded me why the show was canceled. Gee, whatever happened to the "show within a show?"

Again, the actors can say the words, but the chemistry is just not there.

I'm not sure which I don't understand more: How someone could think that dreck was good or why I'm still watching.

Well, of course, only your taste in what is good matters. What was I thinking?! ::)

Good to see another West Wing alum pop us as the Air Force Lt.
He also had a bit part in SportsNight as one of the control room guys.
Anyone else think Josh Malina will somehow worm his way in? He did save Sorkin's life.
Best guess in the series finale Studio 60 gets cancelled for poor ratings and it does a little Animal House montage to say what happens to everyone.

I'm thinking either Studio 60 gets cancelled or Matt and Danny get fired. The low ratings stuff definitely seems to be headed somewhere like that,

Well, other than you relating to an experience - and I can understand that can make one like it more - what exactly was good about this show?

Do you really see any chemistry between the characters? Were the plots that great? The dialogue? Go back two weeks; that was a semi-decent show. The past two weeks, back to being dreck.
