I liked it but interweb rumors say that Sorkin will never do TV again.
That the whole experience with this show and dealing with NBC has pushed him back into film.
My prediction is that the DVD will sell very, very well.
Here's my question, Matt and Danny didn't get fired, they quit, as was revealed. And Harriet knew that they had quit and she was convinced that was the reason why they could never get back together since she hadn't quit as well.
But everyone else thought that they got fired. Maybe I missed something, but that doesn't quite mesh-up.

I figured the difference in the stories was because Matt and Danny never announced they were quitting. That let Steven Weber's character and the S60 boss spin it as them being fired for the unAmerican skit. Harriet never says anything, neither do Matt or Danny.

Makes sense. I just didn't put much thought into it. That flashback storyline was the least interesting part of these last few episodes.

All I can figure is that when Weber was doing the "blacklisting" speech to Simon, that he was alluding to the role he played in making people think he fired them. That's all I can guess. The promos all promised we'd learn how Danny and Matt got fired the first time.

Seems like whoever wrote the promo misunderstood what was coming in the episode...or nobody gave a shit to get it right since it was going off the air anyway.

It just seems weird that they would make this principled stand and quit.
But then when it leaked that they were fired, they let it slide.
I don't know enough about the Sorkin/Schlamme back story, so it mayhave happened in real-life, but it just seems odd.
And Sorkin is the screenwriter for Charlie Wilson's War, starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts among others. It comes out this Christmas.

It could have ended with the 4 a.m. Miracle episode and I would have been as happy.

I'll reserve my DVD set tonight ...

Man, that musical cold-opening bit seems like four years ago. The Christmas ep with the displaced New Orleans musicians? No way that's seven months ago.

I'm going to miss it. Wish there were more people like me that way, but I've got "Rescue Me" for a while to keep me enjoying TV.

A pleasant surprise tonight ... I thought I had the musical episode of Scrubs left over on DVR, but instead it turned out to be one of the two S60 episodes I hadn't seen. "The Disaster Show."

Probably the last time this thread gets this high on the list again.
    Two items.
First: For fans of the show, amazon.com has the DVD release scheduled for Oct. 16. I'll be buying it that day.
Second: Sorkin fans, Christmastime at the theater should be interesting this year. Sorkin's screenplay, "Charlie Wilson's War" is being released on Christmas Day. From imdb:
Cast: Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman. (and, no Josh Malina)
