Speaking of new fall shows starring hot girls, has anyone seen Abrams and Bettes: Beyond the Forecast? I likes me some Stephanie Abrams, but I think she needs to be wearing a skin-tight t-shirt and standing in the middle of a gale-driven rain to be at her hottest.

I tried.... really did... but Sarah Paulson is awfully miscast in this show.

She's utterly unbelievable as anyone funny.

    Good episode, though.

Guy did a good Nic Cage impression....

Paulson's got a pretty dead-on Holly Hunter impersonation, if you ask me.

The Holly Hunter made me laugh. No way, sorry, that the Matthew Perry character knows all the Moliere stuff. Sorkin does, but Sorkin wasn't a leader writer for an SNL type show. I've seen Tartuffe, but you've got to acknowledge there's a line between smart writing and stuff that Dennis Miller has to go Google.

I would be perfectly fine retiring this thread and starting a new one with each week's show. I lack the courage/board clout to do so myself.

I liked the exchange about Amanda Peet's teeth.

I'm with mediaguy. Sorkin's got eclectic tastes - far more eclectic than a sketch comedy show writer/movie writer would have. Gilbert and Sullivan? A cancelled movie about Nikola Tesla (who I had to Wikipedia)? Moliere? Commedia dell'Arte? There's only so much highbrow humor/literature someone can possibly know...right?

What is striking me most is how many times Matthew Perry grabs at/rubs his nose.

When does Richard Schiff get his cameo?

That episode didn't grab me like the first two. Some reaches on the stuff mentioned above.

Yeah, it's totally un-possible that a sketch comedy writer would know about Moliere or Tesla. ::)

I'm all for picking nits, but this is a bit over the top.
