I really enjoyed it and will be back each Monday.

While gorgeous, I'm not sure Amanda Peet is the correct choice for that role. She didn't have the presence the rest of the cast did. I hope she proves me wrong.

Matthew Perry was terrific. He has the look of someone who has seen some tough times in Hollywood and that's pretty refreshing following "Friends."

No way Amanda Peet can tell the head of the network to come in my office, get up and leave a big meeting, and have him follow her. Steven Webber would have cut her down in front of the room to show everyone who is the head honcho.

The show lost me right there.

Later the PA says "are you here to save us?" Ridiculous dialog.

All the show needs now is Josh Molina to be totally useless.

I really thought it was good. For those of you who are having problems seperating the two Bradley Whitford characters, it might just be too soon. I was feeling the same way early in the episode, but was losing that feeling pretty quickly as it went on. My wife and I have very different opinions about stuff like this. She was never much of a WW fan. But she has been looking forward to this as well.

Good show, great cast, and Aaron Sorkin could write out directions on a napkin and I would be hooked.

I'm in. But I never really planned to be out.

My guess is Malina will make a cameo when one of the Studio 60 stars competes on Celebrity Poker Showdown. :D

I just finished watching it online. I'm in the "eh" camp. I'll watch again, but I didn't love it. I can't buy Amanda Peet in the role (plus, I don't think she's that attractive, but I'm a woman who's not attracted to women, so what do I know?).

My biggest beef was that I don't think people really talk that way to each other. It never really bothered me on "West Wing" or "Sports Night," but, for example, I found the dialogue between Steven Weber and Amanda Peet ridiculous.

Like I said, I'll give it another chance, but I was disappointed overall.

Not a big fan of suspension of disbelief, we see.

Just got around to watching the show and I enjoyed it and I'll probably keep watching it. The overnight ratings for the show were OK but not fantastic. The fact that the show couldn't hold its audience in the second half hour is a bad sign, I think.

Amazing how lantaur can read our minds with that comment about why people say the show is smart.

I do think the show is smartly written and I am already a fan. Frankly I don't care enough about impressing the board to acknowledge the show's intelligence if I don't see it.

This kind of hit me when I was watching it earlier today. As that came out, I was like 'But you'll just hire him with no kind of background check or anything?'

But, as shotty said, it's all about a suspension of disbelief. I liked it. I liked the give and take with Whitford and Perry.

My wife, who has never seen (or would see, probably) SportsNight and who was a very late adopter on West Wing, watched the DVR of Studio 60 tonight and really, really liked it.

I don't think anyone realistically thought the show would beat CSI: Miami... CBS has had such a stranglehold on Monday nights for probably about a decade now that any progress on another network is probably quite the accomplishment...

Also, Monday shows usually get a huge boost once football season ends... I don't know how much that changes now that MNF is no longer on ABC...
