"I'm not really in the market for any more friends, Ramone. I can really only handle 2 or 3."

Thought the show was weak again tonight. Hasn't really done much for me the last 3 or 4 episodes but I still find it watchable. They are trying too hard to do too many things with Peet's character, and it's not turning out too good. And how must the actress that plays Harries felt when she got this week's script and saw that her only contribution would be her walking around butchering stupid jokes. I mean, where did that even come from and how did they think it would be remotely entertaining to do repeatedly. Not sure what was up with the flashbacks. This show is so frustrating in how close it is to being good, yet misses the mark badly sometimes.

Guess that's why Baskin-Robbins made all those flavors. ;) I thought it was excellent. Plenty of storylines and edgy.

Haha ok, but you at least have to give me that Harriet's character was a waste of everyone's time this week.

  5. I guess you missed the part with her walking through the halls with Matt Perry. You know - the part where she was wearing a white blouse and her brown, hard nipples were protruding through the fabric. That was hardly a waste of talent.

That episode was too much buildup for not much payoff...

I don't get that. And here's the thing about a Sorkin "flashback" episode: When the present catches up with where they started the episode, a lot of heavy stuff happens all at once. It did here.

I loved the spit-take scene. Nothing earth-shattering. Just funny. The same with the discussion of how they would play it when they incorporated the spit takes into the show later.

That said, I'm already tired of Amanda Peet's character. At least they are finally writing the pregnancy into the script. They were doing a lousy job of hiding it.

What I thought was strange is that Harriet Hayes is on one of the hippest comedy shows on TV yet she can't tell a three-sentence joke about a guy with a duck on his head. How realistic is that? I agree, she was a waste this week.

That made no sense to me, either.

Well, I disagree with Bobbie and TG and oop. I thought that was hilarious, not so much because she's butchering a joke, but for the reactions of the people around her. "This is like watching a drunk guy walk on ice..." Priceless. Additon of Mark McKinney was good, I thought. I'm still interested by Peet's character -- you have to admit that was a pretty good slap-down she gave the Time guy -- but they are starting to pile on a little much.

Final thought -- Corinne Bailey Rae. Holy crap. Never heard her before. Wow.

  12. Mark McKinney may have instantly become my favorite character on that show. The metaphore joke was just perfect.
