Running Stupid Spelling of Names Thread

    Actual calls taken by our sports desk in the last month or two:

    Desk guy: How do you spell Zach? With an 'H'?
    Caller: No, with a 'Z.'

    Desker: How do you spell Rachel?
    Caller: With an 'R.'

    Caller: Kyle B. with two hits.
    Desker: The letter B or the name 'Bea'?
    Caller: Just the letter 'B.'
    Desker: We can't put a last initial in the paper. Need a full last name.
    Caller: Well, then just make it Kyle Bea.

    Finally got around to reading the SI "Where Are They Now?" section from a few weeks back. Among the things I learned is that Willie Mays' wife (his second) is named Mae.

    That's right, Mae Mays.
