With these horribly-spelled names, I would grieve for the obituary writers of 2081 ...

... except the obituaries for newspapers, and the obits in them, will be written long before then.

This thread began 13 years ago. A lot of these kids being discussed are probably parents now. I wonder if spellings have gotten crazier or if their experience has led them to snap back to more conventional spellings.

This story is probably a repeat of one upthread.
Woman calls the sports desk to tell us we spelled her kid's name wrong.
Desker says, we didn't, you did.

I met most of those kids in the 90s to the 00s. Some of them have kept in touch. Her kids' names: Kimberly, Jonathan, and Alexander.
One of my former co-workers encountered a Gob (yes, it was pronounced "Job") the other day. It was a Quiverfull family with "G" names for all of the kids. They might have been aware of Arrested Development, but I doubt it.

My buddy works in an ER and collects the interesting names by grabbing the extra wristbands. Here was my fave.

If I haven’t already posted this (or even if I have), there was a girl who played basketball for LaGrange, Ga. high school (back when I was covering Georgia high schools) named Rotunda Morris.

I could not get past halfway in this sentence without singing “Ah haw haw haw haw."

    I denounce myself.

My kids are in band with a girl named Kesley.

Not Kelsey, which is how I spelled it in a tribute to senior band members. It's Kesley.
