And not to get too kooky, but there are some definite paralells between the Giants and the 80 US hockey team. They got one look at the bully before the tournament (though the Giants didn't get waxed like the Americans did); they caught fire at the precise time, and eventually felled said bully by shoving it right down their face.

    dd68:
The Soviets were an elite professional all-star squad that represented the USSR for years, and the Miracle on Ice was comprised of a group of relatively unknown amateur college kids brought together for the 1980 Olympics.

That's gold, and every time I picture it happening, I laugh a little more.

It's hard to understand why Shockey wasn't on the sideline supporting his team?

I think the 85 Bears and 84 Niners would have something to say about this.

The Giants D was overpowering. The pass rush was there from the start to the end. I bet they knocked Brady down more than in any other game this year.

They were getting killed by the Welker dump off but on the last drive, they finally stuffed him. Nice change.

Moss, I saw his quitting in person last year in Oakland but he played hard to the end. It wasn't like he was alligator arms or dogging routes, they covered him and he ran hard the last couple of plays, in fact all of his deep routes. He almost came up with the great catch at the end but it was deflected (I know, close only counts in .....pregnancies). Would have been a nice story but that's okay.

Glad for Eli. He got hammered in NY and he never blew his top. Hard to do.

Someone said its a great day for Archie (and his wife too). As the father of two sons, I can pretend to know how special that feeling would be. Nice to see Peyton support his brother in the way he did too.

Gostkowski is only 6-10 career from 40+.

However, seeing Belichick's arrogance, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he just though his offence couldn't be stopped.

I love that nobody can say the Pats gave this one away. The Giants beat their ass ... This should also end the Brady-Montana talk. Joe Cool never lost a SB.

Throughout the regular season, you could make the argument to go for it on fourth down. But the Pats' offense has struggled in the post-season and were awful tonight. There's no way you don't kick the field goal. Belichick's arrogance cost the the Super Bowl.
