Fuck, man, I know he blew that chippie at Indy last year, but give me a break. He kicked a 50-plus yarder to beat San Diego at the gun last year.

Then there was that whole, 49-yarder in overtime, at Lambeau, to win the NFC title game, when no kicker in the history of the league (at least visiting kicker) had ever made one longer than 40 yards in the playoffs there.

But I suppose he can't kick.

You may not like it, but that talk is not going to end off one game. It's been going on for too long now.

And it might be different if Tom dropped a load on the field. But he didn't.

When I saw him coming through the tunnel pregame he was on crutches. I'm pretty sure he was there.

Neither did Bradshaw or Aikman. One thing those dynasties had in common -- aside from the rings -- is that they never lost a Super Bowl. I'm sure Patriots fans would argue it's better to have made the Super Bowl and lost as opposed to lose in the AFC title game, but those teams never missed a chance to close the door in the Super Bowl.

And I must say this: The Patriots make for good Super Bowls, at least this decade. Three victories by three points, one loss by three points. All well-played games.

Anybody catch the Eli/Mercury ad that just ran on NFL Network? Even as tired as I am of Mercury Morris, that was still a cool commercial.

Fox showed him up in a box, with what looked like a beer on the table in front of him.

I thought I saw a story that said he wasn't in Green Bay because team doctors said it wasn't going to be safe for him on the sidelines with crutches while the field was frozen.

There really is no argument even if it is Tynes (remember he missed in horrible conditions, this was in a dome). Kicking the field goal there was a no-brainer. And I'm surprised more wasn't said of it, the Pats may've blown the Super Bowl/perfect season because the world's greatest football genius coach had a brainfart. Sounds like a story to me.

Wouldn't be shocked if that was the last time he'd appear with the Giants. They don't need him and he doesn't want to be anywhere where someone will hold him accountable.
