Agreed, but the refs shouldn't have started the clock, as if to indicate it was.

I didn't watch Belichick's eyes, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't looking up at the scoreboard to see if the clock was running after he and Coughlin hugged.

I imagine they'll talk about this on PTI tomorrow, Tony will say it was no big deal, and that'll be the end of it.

Yeah, it has to be right there near the top. I don't care, I just don't know anyone who really saw this one coming. Some people thought it could happen, but I don't know anyone who REALLY believed Bill Belicheck and Tom Brady would lose with two weeks to prepare and a chance to secure their legacy.

I believe this game illustrates simply how great of a quarterback Joe Montana was. Tom Brady has been billed as one of the greatest ever (agree 100 percent), maybe the best ever (disagree 100 percent).

Brady was simply OK today in his fourth Super Bowl. We have the tendancy to want to make the next big thing better than the last, and while Brady has obviously been great, Montana was nearly flawless in four Super Bowls. Never threw an INT in the Super Bowl. Won three MVPs and the one he didn't was the signature on his career.

I'm probably the only one thinking of this right now, but tonight just confirmed to me again that Montana was/is the greatest ever and it's going to be damn difficult for someone to surpass him.

That's exactly what I thought. The guy beat the Bills with one week in 1991. How could he lose with two weeks to prep?

I think that is silly --- if Tyree drops that pass the Patriots win and every one is talking about how great Brady was in leading the team down the field for the win.

Montana's defenses didn't give up 90- yard drives once they were handed the lead -- that's the difference.

Montana never lost a Super Bowl. Case closed, if you want to look at it that way.
