When you go through his timeline and visa application, he had zero credibility left. “Don’t let the door hit you on the way out”.

Let’s not forget he’s the guy who held a tourney in the face of COVID in 2020 and got infected.

His new moniker is “COVID Man”

Think about the guy he was scheduled to play. Goes from playing and getting smacked in the first round to getting a qualifying loser and a decent chance at advancing.

Indeed, he has zero credibility. It's a good guess -- using the BS detector test -- that he tried to fake a positive Covid test to finagle a visa exemption, and he didn't cover his tracks because he never anticipated his movements being scrutinized later on. It was dishonest and it was pure hubris if that is correct.

The thing is, the Australians didn't boot his ass for any of that, which would have been honest at least. He actually would have never gotten on a plane in the first place if they hadn't bumblefucked their way to a giant politicized mess.

Instead, he got off the plane in Melbourne, where they first tried to deny the visa they had already given him, not accepting the exemption they had already given him, because you had local and Federal politicians locking horns over public opinion over their handling of Covid. And then when a court said no to them trying to deport him, the rationale became that he was a threat to public order because he will encourage people not to be vaccinated. It's a specious reason, considering he should have never been let in in the first place if "rules are rules," the way Morrison was saying when they had already given him a visa and let him in.

They come out looking badly as a result, because this was an exercise of politicians facing an election year trying to save face with Austalian voters who are really Covid weary. The were adamant to say "no one is above the rules." Except let's be honest. ... they had allowed Djokovic to be above the rules. ... until they faced political embarrassment.

Cliff Drysdale is achieving the impossible and making wish I was watching the Steelers blowout. That was an ugly look kissing Joker’s ass.

The Aussie Open is low-key one of my favorite sporting events of the year. I'm out here freezing my ass off in the dead of a January night in Minnesota and Rafa's out here running around in the sunshine. I hope they have to invoke the heat policy later this week.

They checked it out. Exactly one winner and she won 6-1, 0-6, 5-0 (ret.) with help from the Ukranian woman's 60 unforced errors. Also before you go blaming the heat, it's low 70s in Straya today. And her opponent retired in time for her go to pick up her kids from school.

Speaking of that, and Cliff Drysdale, I recall he was doing a Sabatini-Novotna match one afternoon that had a staggering 105 unforced errors.
After another errant shot late in the match, he could only mutter, "This is simply dreadful."

I was just getting ready to ask what the French Open situation would be. Hope the country at least stays on the same page, wherever it leads.

Didn't help UMBC much in 2018. They played a 9 seed too (Kansas State).
