    And we’re going the distance.

Zverev lets it get away and Alcaraz seizes the moment. 6-2 in the fifth. Three majors for 21-year-old Alcaraz — one on each surface.

The Athletic had a crazy stat on Twitter — Carlito has more singles grand slam titles than all of the men born in the 1990s combined.

Heh. Truly a lost generation of tennis greatness.

They mentioned that on the telecast, too. The domination of three guys shut out a generation of players.

Think about the guys between Sampras, Agassi, Courier, and Fed, Nadel, Djoker (and Murray let’s not forget he’s got 2 Wimb 1 USOpen, gold medal)!

Wawrinka has three major titles, too — Australian, French and U.S.

BTW, this year’s French Open final was the first since 2004 without Nadal, Djokovic or Federer involved.

Where have you gone, Gaston Gaudio? Our clay-court specialists turn their lonely eyes to you. Woo-woo-woo.

The year before, the winner was “The Mosquito”, Juan Carlos Ferrero — now Alcaraz’s coach.

Wimbledon starts Monday. No Rafa (not a surprise), but Djokovic is going to give it a go just three weeks after knee surgery for a torn meniscus. He'll be the No. 2 seed behind Sinner and ahead of Alcaraz.

Yesterday Djoker, wearing a brace on the knee, played his first match since his June 5 surgery -- an exhibition against Medvedev -- and he won. So we'll see how this goes.

On the women's side, Swiatek is No. 1 and has won 19 matches in a row (with three tournament titles), but...

    1) Grass is not her surface. Her best career performance at Wimbledon was last year's quarterfinal run.

    2) She hasn't played a competitive match since winning on the clay at Roland Garros a month ago. She was scheduled to play a grass tuneup event in Berlin but withdrew due to “overall physical and mental fatigue after an intense nine weeks.”

So the women's field is actually pretty open. Should be an interesting fortnight.

Fowler and McEnroe are very good together.
