If no one gives a ---- about the Presidents Cup, why is it still in existence after 20 years? Tiger has never missed one. Neither has Phil. And unlike the Ryder Cup, Tiger has a good record in the PC (24-15-1). If those two guys thought it was a bogus event, they would have found some reason not to play.
The PGA Tour doesn't do anything for free. It's making decent enough money off sponsorships and TV to keep the Presidents Cup going.
I had a wise editor tell me once: "just because you don't give a ---- about something doesn't mean no one gives a ---."

King Urkel is on track for more golf outings than Tiger Woods ... and you're paying for it.

I'm going to assume that Mr. Curl has no idea how many practice rounds Tiger has played, but that is still on eye-opening statistic.

I daresay a substantial percentage of U.S. golfers have played more rounds this year than Woods has in competition. I know I have, and by no means do I play as often as other people I know.

The PC is a cash cow for the Tour. The tickets are treated like tickets to majors (Tour employees can't even get freebies, unlike every other event) and they sell a bunch, plus the aforementioned sponsorships and TV.

I would argue that the Americans' stellar PC record is due to lesser competition and pressure. How else to explain them folding like cheap tents in almost every Ryder Cup?

Tiger finally woke up and realized he's been pissing away the autumn of his prime trying to learn a modified version of Stack and Tilt, and dumped swing coach Sean Foley today. Will be interesting to see if he hires a new coach, or if he tries to make a go of it on his own for six months.

  9. He's got to hire a swing coach, right? He'd be foolish to go it alone.

    Haney is out. Period.
A reunion with Butch Harman would be best, but ???

Haven't been this excited for a coaching change since I went to bed one night in 2012 thinking the Lakers were hiring Phil Jackson to replace Mike Brown.

    1. Even if Tiger could swallow that ego and go back to Butch, he would never, ever work with Butch while Butch is still coaching Mickelson.

    2. I don't know that Butch would take Tiger back at this point. He said he would not, although it would be interesting to see if he held to that if Tiger actually did ask him. Which he won't.
