I have a Tiger/SJ alert on my phone.

Sadly, a cross country flight to the west coast got delayed, and so I'd just arrived at my hotel at what felt like 4 a.m., but was just 1 a.m.

In all honesty -- does anyone believe Tiger Woods will even win five more PGA Tour events, much less majors? Anybody?

I mean, I'll concede he may find the fountain of youth for one or two weekends at some point, but I am finally fully to the side of "he's done, put a fork in him"

I wouldn't bet against him winning 5 tournaments. He did that two years ago; he had 6 top 3 finishes the year before that. I realize that as time drags on where he is a complete non-factor like at present, the more remote the thought of him winning becomes. But, we know the skill is there; if he can somehow summon a good run of health, swing corrections, and keep his head on straight, he' still got a number of years where he could be playing at an elite level.

Here is the thing - what is his skill level at this point?

He hasn't played all four rounds of a tournament since the British Open.

My guess is he'll be at the Players and the Memorial or maybe just the latter.

What the fuck is going on with this guy. Is this going to be his career -- "hey guess when I play again!!"

I know dude used to be the greatest but 2008 is a long time ago.

He might be an eight-tournaments-a-year golfer from now on. As much as I thought the Masters was going to be a disaster, it wasn't, so he might be right.

He certainly doesn't give a shit about being a beloved figure. He's the BArry Bonds of golf.

  10. If his sole goal now is catching Jack's record, playing eight events a year to prepare for the majors, might be a good bet, and his only chance to stay healthy enough to make a run.

Tiger wasn't exactly barnstorming the country even when he was winning majors. He was down to 15-16 events per year in the years before he and fire hydrant met.
