Back to the drinking and driving thing for a second, saying that it's somehow not your fault because you were too drunk to know better... Um, don't get that drunk? Don't drive if you think you're doing to be drinking? Have one and switch to water or Coke?

It's not the same thing, but it's on the same spectrum as saying that you're not at fault for date raping a girl because you were too drunk to know better.

I don't think anyone was saying it isn't the person's fault.

We are saying "this is why it happens that someone can make such a bad decision."

I don't care how drunk you are. At 41 years old, you damn sure know better.

Look at this son of a bitch.
I've said for 2 years, the USGA is going to have a massive hard-on about stretching this thing to 8000 yards.

Of course. But that's why they're called bad decisions. Precisely because you know better and you do stupid shit anyway once drugs and alcohol are involved.

Right. What I meant is he's old enough to be reasonably expected to not make those bad decisions.

People who abuse drugs and alcohol tend not to be reasonable. And don't read that as an excuse. Just the reality of addiction and addictive personalities.
