How many people on here have a PS3? Can I get a tally. I want to get something going for that console like they have for the XBox, but I need to know how many we have and get the feelers out there for what game we want to play.

  2. I'm seriously thinking of getting NCAA Football 09 and joining the league then. I'll probably play as Purdue. I know someone else that visits this board all the time but doesn't post too often and he would be interested in joining as well.

I shouldn't have much of an issue being in both this league and the NHL 09 league.

I just beat The Simpsons Game.

If only the gameplay was better and less repetitive, it'd be one of my favorite games. Cut-scenes were top-notch, very enjoyable dialogue, some awesome one-liners from obscure characters, good visuals, very creative stories and ideas...a Simpsons fan dream. It just seemed like every single level (or "episode") was solving a frustratingly complex puzzle of some sort. It gets old fast.

One of my favorite levels is when you need to save an early-90s Simpsons video game clan from destruction. You meet some incredibly rough looking characters with 8-bits and Bart's spouting off his old catchphrases, which they poke fun at. You then go through a video game world and battle old video game characters such as Madden football players (it is an EA game after all), before having to duke it out in Grand Theft Scratchy (taking out Poochie and cleaning it up, with help from Dianne Warwick's "That's What Friends Are For") , Medal of Homer, Everquest parody, and an anime game ripoff.

I purchased GTA IV on my way home from work tonight, I can't wait to get into it. Hopefully it is as fun as it looked when my buddy was playing it.

Just found out that Gary Thorne is play-by-play guy on MLB 2K9, thus I will play every game with the commentary off.

Seriously why can't a game throw a bunch of money at, maybe, Vin Scully to do commentary. Gary Thorne??

I love Gary Thorne -- for hockey. That's what I miss most about the NHL on ESPN. Grew up an Avs' fan and I'll never forget this game, in part because of Thorne:

"Here's Sakic. Joe Sakic the move, shot, save -- open net! Score!! He's done it again, Alex Tanguay!"

"On the power play, Sakic ... fakes it, takes it. Scores! Joe Sakic, power play goal! THREE TO NOTHING COLORADO!"

Plus, the Bourque call.. damn. Awesome. Just watched that about 6 times. Don't get me wrong though, I hear ya on baseball.

AZ, Avs fan for life here... You are dead on with the Thorne call.

"The Colorado Avalanche have won the Stanley Cup! RAYMOND BOURQUE! A DREAM HAS COME TRUE!"

Still gives me chills just typing it. Those were the good ol' days, before the Avs fell apart and became the worst team in the league, like this year.

Hey Boston, what system did you play The Simpsons on? If you thought it was complex to play on an XBox or PS3, the Wii version is downright frustrating. You have to jerk the controls every which way to get them to work right. My wife and I are giant Simpsons fans and I had to finish the game alone because it drove her up the wall and over it real quick.

No doubt, PR. I had chills a couple of times watching it again. And like I said, I watched it about six or seven times.

Anyone play Civ:Revolution on the 360 or PS3? My brother got it for me for my b-day and UPS just dropped it off today -- and I'm hooked. It's all the good parts of the computer game without any of the tedious parts.
Seems like there's plenty to do for the achievement whores out there (Hi StormSurge).
Obviously the true test of any game is if you're still playing it 2 months later, but right now I'm loving it.

am, Storm has it, as do I, both for Xbox. And we each have one or two people on our friends list that play it as well.

Haven't played it in awhile, but it's a very good game. I'm sure we would be up for an online match.

Sounds good to me. As sad as this is, I actually just set up Xbox Live last weekend. Haven't done much of anything on it other than download the Halo Wars demo.
