So has anybody ever gotten a game from overseas?

I ask because EA Sports makes a cricket game. As a fan of obscure sports (obscure in America), I'd like to get it and put it next to my EA Rugby game. But EA doesn't sell it stateside. Will a PAL game work on our NTSC systems?

No, it does not, I'm afraid.

The only way to get EA Sports Cricket is to get it for PC (and it's great, btw. Absolutely awesome).

How do you like EA Rugby? One of the biggest reasons I got into the sport was how amazingly well it played as a video game. Might be my favorite sport to play as a video game.

I love it. It's my second-favorite game behind FIFA. But I've got a version that's a couple of years old. I need to get a more current one.

I just wish EA would release cricket for here. And that they'd do an Aussie Rules game and Irish hurling. Hell, I'd buy a Tour de France game from EA.

    Mine is 06 for PS2.

The best part was when I went into the game store and asked for it, and the clerk looked confused. "Nobody buys Rugby," she said.

Question to the GameFly members out there, is the service worth it? Do you like having the service and is it viable to get new games when they first come out or does it take a while to hit the que?

I would love to play an Aussie Rules game.

Gamefly is definitely worth it. I can't remember the last time I went to my local Blockbuster for a game.

I think the one-game at a time is $13.95 per month. I figure I get two games per month I've paid for it. And I don't have to worry about when I send it back in.

You can get brand new games on there, depends on their availability and where they are in your que and what else is in your que too.

Right now, I've got like 40 games in my que and just let them send whichever. If I really wanted a game, I could take them all out of my que except the one and get it within a few days. (StormSurge gave me that tip).

And after you've been a member for six months and a year, you get discounts and gamefly dollars that you can use to help purchase games.

I love Gamefly. Until now, I've received games very quickly. (I was hoping to get The Bigs 2 when it was released, but I'm still waiting.)

When games are listed as tougher to find, I empty my queue with the exception of the one I want. Until now, it has worked perfectly.

The other benefit I love is the ability to purchase games at a great discount. For example, I received Battlestations: Pacific the week it was released. I had the option to keep it for $44 (retail $59). On top of that, I earn 10% off purchases & I had a $5 coupon. I can't beat that deal.

Cool, I think that's an idea for by b-day in September. Thanks for the info everyone.

  10. A head's up for the rest of the weekend, Gamestop is running buy 2 get 1 on used games, which can be a pretty good deal, as well as break you about even if you later sell those games on Amazon.

I picked up Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead and Tales of Vesperia today for $105. If I sold them all on Amazon tomorrow I'd get about $100 out of it.

    Edit: For lack of verbiage.

And if you sold them back to Gamestop you'd get about $10.

I've always thought about doing this in the past, but resisted, but if it actually works, then I'll give it a shot.

I'll echo Hank and Storm's praise for GameFly. I've actually found that getting brand new games can be really easy, as long as you time your return correctly. I got Devil Survivor, Dragon Quest IV, Ghostbusters for Wii, Steal Princess, Retro Game Challenge, Chrono Trigger and The Dark Spire all within a day or two of their release. The discount is a good deal too - I bought Devil Survivor and DQ4 for $21.50 each when they were both new releases. After three months of membership, you get 10% off and $5 off a single purchase.
