You don't start getting the discounts until six months.

At three months, you get five Gamefly dollars.

At six months, five percent off and five dollars.

At 1 year, 10 percent off and five dollars.

You also get five dollars every three months. Of course, if you don't use them, they expire. You can't hold on to them and get a game for free.

    Sale alert for Xbox users:

Target has a buy one, get one half off deal going on this week.

Could be good for getting NCAA 10 and Tiger 10.

As someone who's worked in that racket (most of you know where), be aware that it's probably only on the games they have listed in their coupon flier. Be warned!

I saw the flier and it said something like 60 games. Where would someone find an actual list ?

That's true a lot of times, but not so in this case, it looks like.
The key is the regular-priced item, which is $59.99.

Even if it is just the games in the photo display of the ad, those included Tiger, NCAA, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: WAW, Guitar Hero Smash Hits and UFC.

    Here's the ad wording:

Buy one, get one 50% off. Offer includes all regular-priced Xbox 360 games—over 60 titles! Each purchased Xbox 360 game price must be equal to or greater than the regular price of the 50% off game. Quantities limited; no rain checks. Offer available in stores only.

I do remember dealing with those ads when they came out. I also distinctly remember, when they involved the Wii or the Nintendo DS, trying to find the specific "Hannah Montana" game that was in the flier. I can't tell you how many times I had to say "I'm sorry, looks like we're out" and knowing that we NEVER HAD THE GAME IN THE DAMN STORE IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Pretty hefty complaint here about MLB 09 the Show in dynasty mode ... I'm in season 3 of my Orioles dynasty (it's been a tough rebuilding job, lots of simming in the first two seasons), and as you move from season to season, they don't switch up the interleague matchups. Stuck with playing the NL East every year. Also, the All-Star game never moves. In St. Louis every year. I don't remember that being the case in the PS2 versions of the game.

Well, if you hadn't snapped up every copy as soon as it came in the store ... :D

A year and a half after getting a used copy of Tiger 08 from my buddy, I'm one match play victory over El Tigre from beating the "Tiger Challenge" mode. I've tried this probably 15 times, and he has skull-fucked me every time. Closest I've gotten was a 2-and-1 loss. That's right, I haven't even seen the 18th on Pebble Beach yet.

So tonight, after getting drubbed 3-and-1, I make a few adjustments (buy more crap in the pro shop, swap out a couple clubs in my bag) and give it another go. Get off to a great start. Draining EVERYTHING with the putter. Lose my momentum on No. 8 when, with a chance to go up 3, I pull a Watson (too soon?) on a 10 footer and come up woefully short. Flustered, I squander my lead on the next two holes.

I rally back in front with another birdie though, on 11. At this point, Tiger goes back into "ridiculous" mode again, sticking every approach within 3 feet. But I'm making my putts to hang onto my lead. Six holes to go. Five. Four.

... And then I get bounced out of the game with a message telling me that I've lost my connection with Xbox Live (which is ridiculous because: A. My wife was upstairs surfing the Internet at the time and had no problem with the connection, and B. What should it matter? I'm playing a game that requires no online features!).

Long story short (too late!): All progress lost. Poof. Gone. Thanks for playing.

I couldn't even get mad. I just wanted to cry.

Picked up NCAA 10 and Tiger 10 from Target. NCAA is what I thought it would be and I hope to get into Tiger a bit later tonight or tomorrow morning.

  12. In Tiger 05 I tried Sunday Tiger one time. I made the turn up seven and he won every single hole after that, including a hole-in-one.

I quietly turned the system off, took the disk out and sold it to a friend the next week.
