Totally random question. Was playing MLB 2K9 yesterday on my 360. And in the middle of the game, it came up "this disc is unreadable."

I took it out, wiped and down and it has continued to happen.

    Am I screwed?

Not necessarily. Sometimes its just because the 360 is overheating. Let it cool off, and try again later.

Most likely, it's just that disc.

I got disc unreadable on an NCAA 09 disc, but my other games played fine. Had to go out and get another NCAA.

Have you tried some of your other games in your 360?

Something I've noticed in the weekly ad inserts each Sunday.

Are the major retailers, such as Best Buy, that much in bed with Sony?

Seems like most of the time they will picture the PS3 game and then in the print next to it, list the 360 price or the Wii price.

Just struck me as odd since there are more 360s and Wiis out there than the PS3s.

Hank it's because Sony is desperate to sell ANYTHING to get some money via the PS3.
It's just the way it is.
Sometimes I think I should have bought the 360, but I enjoy the choice I made.

    Oh I understand that.

But, Best Buy is in it to make money as well. And you'd think the best way to make money in the video game section would be to highlight 360 or the Wii.

    Market to the masses.

True indeed. Wonder if Sony put all the money they should have paid to get some exclusives into Best Buy instead.

Not sure how many Wii Virtual Console fans there are (it's pretty much all I play anymore), but Nintendo has now gone two weeks without releasing any games for it. My anger is rising...

I need to do some more research, but I think it's no salary cap & restricted trades. I'm not 100% sure though.

If I get the Madden game, I'd be in for an online franchise league.

Not sure if I'll get it though. Last one I got was 08 and that was about six months after it came out when it was on sale at Target.

Anyone else play Wii Sports Resort? Gave it a quick run-through and wasn't terribly impressed. It was OK, but nothing special. Maybe it'll grow on me.

I've been disappointed with the quality of Wii games. Not many I'm a big fan of...

You're not the only one. I dig the Virtual Console, but I'm hesitant to spend money on games I already own. If games come out for multiple systems, I'm going to get the 360 version 10 out of 10 times.

Granted, I still need to try Super Mario Galaxy & I will definitely get the new SMB game later this year, but the Wii has been a horrible disappointment, at least to me. The novelty wore off quickly.
