Running video games (and consoles) thread

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Will Hernandez, Dec 20, 2006.

  1. I've got a question about EA's NCAA football for PS2. Can anyone here consistently beat the computer at the Heisman level? Whenever I play a team as good as mine or better, my team ends up fumbling five or six times before I can't take it anymore.

Can you not buy a PS3 by itself? All I'm seeing is the limited edition ones with Spider Man 3 or the Motorstorm pack...

I'm loving FIFA 08 on my 360 right now. New Tiger is nails, too.

Is there a demo available for FIFA 08? I'd like to check that out.

Now that baseball is almost over, I'm a little late to this thread, but MLB 07 The Show on PS3 is the best baseball game I've ever played. Even better than MVP 05. Not as pretty as 2K7, but it has it beat everywhere else. It's almost worth owning a PS3 for that game alone. Can't wait for 08.

How much are PS3's running now? I may check into getting one for Christmas.

  9. I know for a fact there is a PS3 demo available for FIFA 08 at the Playstation store online. I downloaded it over a month ago and it almost led me to buy it when it came out. I decided to wait until I can find a used copy and went with the NBA Live 08 instead.

KYSportswriter: I believe the 60GB version is down to $499 and the 80GB is $599. I could be wrong and if so I apologize.

I think those prices are right. A 40gb version comes out in early November (I think) for $399. The only drawback is it's not backward compatible.

Seriously considering a 360, but which version is best for me?

They just came out with that new Arcade Version of the 360 for $280.

I play sports games ... exclusively ... if that makes a difference. I'd like to be able to play over the Internet, but it's not so crucial that I'll plunk down an extra $100 right now for the option.

    Any help?

That's not really a very big hard drive on the arcade version, is it?
