Running video games (and consoles) thread

Well, it's not "bad" by any stretch of the imagination - the visuals are actually the best I've seen for that sort of game. Just realize that you're only getting about 45 Beatles songs, and many of them are some of their smaller hits as opposed to "Hey Jude". I also thought it would have been nice to get some solo stuff or influences on there for an epilogue chapter, similar to how the Guitar Hero "solo band" projects work - "Imagine" by John Lennon or some stuff from Wings.

 

NBA 2k10 is pretty awesome. Really, really like it.

And with the new Jasper chipset, Xbox hardware is a bit more stable.

 

I've had my ps3 for almost two years now and NOW is the time to get one. I say this because of three games coming out for it:

Modern Warfare 2
Assassins' Creed 2
God of War 3 - PS3 exclusive.

Uncharted is a good one to start at especially with Uncharted 2 already out now. It looks incredible!

 

I've heard great things about Uncharted 2, and one of my friends is raving about how awesome and hard Demon's Souls is. I still have such a backlog of Wii and DS games though that I'm holding off on adding PS3 games to the queue.

 

I am intrigued by Demon's Souls. But if it's as hard as people say I might avoid it. Depends on whether or not the difficulty is fair.

 

I've started off with Madden 10 and I'm excited to try out the system when it arrives - ordered it through Amazon so it won't get to me another week or so. I'm thinking Uncharted might be my next buy. I've always been a fan of third-person adventure games, but I'm not much of a serious gamer. Hopefully I'll be able to handle it and get some good use out of the system. Honestly, I'm mostly excited to try out the Blu-Ray capability.

I also went onto the Assassin's Creed site to watch some game video. Looks gorgeous. This will be so much more fun than my PS2.

 

Make sure you send me your gamer tag when you get your system. We can play Madden 10.

 

I would say get Fallout 3. If you like shooters and RPGs then this is one to buy. Also, get LittleBigPlanet. Even if you don't like platformers it is a great purchase.
Shooters- Resistance and Resistance 2, both top-notch.
Ditto on the Creed, loved that game.
Also, get The Orange Box, if only for Portal alone. That was one of the best games I have played in this current generation.
Let's see... Haven't played inFamous, but have heard rave reviews about it.
About to pick up Borderlands today (but it will be for my new 360 because that's in the bedroom and I'm way too lazy to get out of bed these days) and I expect that to shine on PS3 too.

 

Please share your thoughts on Borderlands. I'm intrigued.

Thought about getting either Madden of NCAA for the XBox and joining in on the fun, but the times you guys get together for games would lead me to get ejected from the bedroom by my wife and the XBox is in there.

 

Most of us can play at various times throughout the week. We're all pretty accommodating. Jump in!!
