I wasn't too excited about a potential NCAA 11 purchase, but from what I've heard they've revamped the entire motion system and it's supposed to be incredible. Not sure if I want to buy that or Madden, though. My last Madden is 09.

Get NCAA, Cosmo. It's always 1,000 times better than Madden. (At least in my opinion.)

You could always download both demos and then decide, too.

Az, Activision is the publisher of the COD games. Treyarch and Infinity Ward are the developers.

IW did MW2 (and while it is hugely popular, they failed at many other things on it).

Treyarch is doing the COD Black Ops game. They have always had a better reputation, I believe.

As far as games dropping this year, three words: Fallout: New Vegas.

I still need to get Red Dead as well.

For those who haven't got Red Dead Redemption yet, it's on sale at Best Buy this week for $44.99.

Target also has a special (although not as good), it's full price ($59.99), but you get a $10 gift card.

Just picked up one of those new Xbox 360 Slims last weekend. This is my first foray into the "next-gen" after a bit of a hiatus from games. I bought GTA4 with it, and it's pretty fun. I've got NCAA 11 and Modern Warfare 2 on the way next week.

Honestly, NCAA is pretty much the only reason I'm doing this. Last one I played was 08 on PS2, and I don't want to know how many hours I sunk into dynasty.

But are there any must-play games that are a bit under the radar? I've heard about all the really big ones, like the aforementioned titles, Red Dead, Mass Effect, etc. I'm looking forward to playing those in due time, but am interested in seeing what all is out there. I've heard good things about Braid, anyone played that? Any other cool arcade games or cult hits?

Bioshock is great (not sure about sequel) as is Fallout 3.

As for the Arcade, download as many demos as possible. (The same goes for retail games) I like Peggle, Risk Factions, Pac Man CE, Hexic, Uno & Game Room.

    Welcome aboard!

wheateater, you should join the NCAA 11 dynasty we have here when we get that up-and-running.

We're getting close to the 12-team limit of an online dynasty.

We have 10 now. And there was interest from someone on the board (can't remember the name right now, maybe wallace). And Fresno could also return.

Vandy probably isn't going to get NCAA 11, so that creates one opening, for wheateater.

    That's assuming everyone else returns.

Wow, no kidding. Like I've said in the other thread, I think we should start the '11 dynasty sooner rather than later.

RockStar announced anti-griefing measures for Red Dead that will roll out soon. If somebody kills the same person six consecutive times, the killer is bumped to "Most Wanted" level which sends a slew of NPC lawmen after him and puts a sizeable XP price on his head.

I finally rented this game today. Holy shit! Rockstar has topped itself!

I just got eaten by coyotes, but this game is fucking great!

It's worth more than a rental, Bubs. One of the best games of the year.

And even when you get done with the story (I think I have about 15 missions left), you can still do the side missions. And bounties never stop appearing, even when you get 100 percent complete.
