Campaign's not all that great. The online game modes, though, are a lot of fun. People make some really fun custom maps.

Starting to realize that. Sadly, that's what made the original Halo so damn good: single player. And then people started networking xboxs multiplayer. But yeah, I'm going to dive into some multi here in a bit. I'll look for you online.

New Red Dead Redemption DLC coming out, and it looks awesome.

Picked up Red Dead the other day so the wife and I can get back into the swing of playing marathon sessions before New Vegas comes out Oct. 19. Like the game a lot, but we're both torn on the fact you are supposed to be a good guy. This is a Rockstar game right? I know you can play as a bad guy, but the way the game is set up you could never get anywhere by being a bad guy. Great game nonetheless.

Have not spent much time on video games past few years but I think new Black Ops games will get me back in action.

I never got into the CoD series on consoles until MW2, but was a big fan back in the days when PC gaming was the best - I still think keyboard and mouse is way better than a controller, but that's just MO -

Needless to say, the series is great on 360/PS3 and I wish I held off on Halo and saved for Black Ops.

It looks good, really good. But sadly, I don't buy games for single player/campaigns really anymore. And honestly, I think the online gameplay might suffer a bit with everyone sticking with CoD. I hope it does well so the CoD series keeps improving instead of going through the motions.

I don't know, the guys at DICE are really good with multiplayer (See: Battlefield), so they might be really good. Add in all the crap about having to rename the Taliban characters in the online stuff and it may cut into the CoD market.
With so many multiplayer first games (MoH, CoD, Halo), it will be nice when a company finally makes a game that is meant to be played at home by one person again. I have come to despise multiplayer, I just hate the smack talking. I could turn down the game and turn up some music, but the sound of shots is always something I use to find out who is shooting so I have to listen to that crap. Annoying.

Don't get me wrong - there are some games where campaign missions are fun/challenging, but sadly the last time I did something like was back in college with Rainbow Six Three. Even then I'd spend two or so hours online after completing a mission in the single player.

Then again, I spent many a days playing CounterStrike all through college on my PC with my friends and that slowly transitioned to Halo with a 100' ethernet cable linking up four xboxs down the dorm hall and playing team deathmatch in Blood Gulch for eight hours.

Actually, I take what I said back about the not caring for single player/offline games. I was very much into the X-Men Legends games. Those were good.

Keep in mind, I was one of those guys - along with everyone else I gamed with (#nerd) - that played with noise canceling head phones or decent ones at least. It's also killing me not to be playing CoD or Halo without a true 5.1 system right now.

Roy, I've gotten the same way with multiplayer. Thanks to the griefers I've just about given up on Red Dead Redemption online and FIFA 11 online.
