Running video games (and consoles) thread

No, just hard. I tried a couple games on insane and it would take a lot longer to win that way. Really unfair.

 

I just started playing and am only on my first time through, playing mostly on hard, but it's still 50-50 that I win on that level. I'm sure I'll join you in the platinum trophy category soon enough. I love it, even if it is some sort of sad attempt to relive my youth.

I'm currently spending most of my time on DC Universe Online but I do have other games.

 

Honestly, not much. Aside from my wacky run with NBA Jam, it's only been things like Uncharted and Infamous. I have NBA 09 but I don't think there's any online support for that now.

Thinking seriously about buying The Show. I downloaded the trial of it last year when I got my PS3 and loved it.

 

How is DCU?

 

I absolutely love it. They cap the levels at 30 but you won't run out of things to do with the daily alert missions, the PvP opportunities, helping others complete tough missions etc. It's well worth the charge of paying to play past the first month and it's only $15 to do that per month.

 

I was wandering around Best Buy the other day with a leftover Christmas gift card and thought about getting it. But the store was out. Picked up the newest Gran Turismo instead.

 

Gran Turismo is great, well from what I've seen of it, it's great.

I was just blown away at how good DCU has been. I've only got one character to Level 30, a hero mentored by Wonder Woman, but I'm close to getting my villain, mentored by The Joker, there.

I must admit, I'm not a big DC Universe guy, I'd prefer Marvel have done this, but damn, it really immerses you in the lore of each character/villain you come across.

For instance, I had no idea that Nightwing is the original Robin (Dick Grayson). Or at least that's what I've inferred from the game.

 

Actually, he's earned a "promotion" to Batman now. Bruce Wayne was dead for a while (might still be, I haven't kept up) and Dick Grayson took his place.
